We've cleaned up a lot of the gameday jumbotron debacle that occurred last year but the clip from SNL with Will Ferrel''s belly showing is an embarrassment to me and my MSU degree.
Based on MSU's demographic, we believe there is a significant portion of fans who desire the "muffin-challenged" cheerleader. Beyond that, we strongly support Will Ferrell, but only as long as his belly is involved...
Your improper use of a single quotation mark is an embarrassment to my MSU degree.
Seriously though - we play "Who Let the Dogs Out" before every single game while a man dressed as a bulldog rides a doghouse on wheels to the 50 yard line...but playing one of the most popular SNL skits of all time which just so happens to coincide with our biggest tradition is an embarrassment?
i think we should consider what this fine fellow has suggested. i think we should replace the snl skit with one of two options, both from the same movie: Deliverance
Call me what you want but we deal with a redneck reputation already and playing that clip only adds to It. No other SEC school would use a video like that and specifically not during the pinnacle of emotion during the football game.
I will be one to somewhat agree with you. Its not "an embarrassment" but I'm not a huge fan of it. It was funny for a little while, but I don't really think an snl skit should become part of our gameday tradition. Maybe just don't use it everygame. It was funny the first couple times. It feels kinda like when a five year-old does something funny and everyone laughs, then they won't stop doing it and it just gets old.
Side note: wasn't the Hangover scene suggested by someone here before it happened?
