The flip side of the coin though is abysmal performance since Mawot went out with no reason to believe this team is Tournament-caliber as it stands today.repeat after me....

It doesn’t matter, we are a different team now since the injury. A 1 and 4 record, we no longer scare anyone, starters became soft and the bench has to play too many minutes . So our body of work may land us in a decent spot but our current team won’t be able to do anything with it.repeat after me....

There is the “body of work” and there are teams with the same record and harder schedule that the experts have below us.
Are they going to take 11 B1G teams. Line up Michigans schedule with ours. Why should they get punished for their schedule? They have one less win then us and look at who they played while we played Coppin State and SacredHeart and Rider

We lost to Temple, Miami, and Seton Hall. That hurt our cause. If you want to add tougher games just know you're likely adding more losses. We need to play a better OOC schedule. Playing all these cupcakes every year doesn’t help our cause.
For a “ru alum” you sure hate RutgersThe flip side of the coin though is abysmal performance since Mawot went out with no reason to believe this team is Tournament-caliber as it stands today.

I know that you know that I know that you know how it works. No one has a win at Purdue
Yup. Now had we not pulled the rabbit out of the hat @ mackey wed be on the outside looking in at the moment. Thats how big that win was.repeat after me....

It’s a good thing the committee doesn’t look at it that wayI know that you know that I know that you know how it works.
I say it every year and I will say it every year that I am alive. It is flat out wrong, IMO, to overweight who you beat.
In my world what is your schedule and what is your record. Losing to Temple and beating Purdue is 1-1. Beating Purdue and losing to Temple is 1-1.

What good is having the 150th non-conference SOS if we go 6-5 against it? It's far better to go 9-2 (or even 8-3) against the 300th SOS.The 308 non conference sos is one of the worst youll find. I think Texas Tech also has a plus 300. Its one of those stats that usually will not matter but if its there it can be pointed to
Fact is RU lost to 2 non ncaa tourney schools. Wake the best win. Injuries in one but no excuse in the other. And it was dreg city after that. Remember when people that Rutgers would be Lowell's only lose.
The one consistent is Pikes teams have mediocre to poor non conference resumes sos and usually results wise

That was definitely super dumbThe Temple scheduling is pointless. Who schedules a Mohegan Sun stand alone game against a mid to bottom tier AAC school. We have had worthless series before with UMass
There are people schools consult with to work with on scheduling
Agree 1000% here. But if I remember correctly, we were supposed to play someone else that backed out during negotiations. I could be totally wrong though. The Temple scheduling is pointless. I don't think it was a bad idea to try to pad our road/neutral record with a team like that. The far bigger issue is the fact we're losing to Temple or St. Bonaventure or Fordham or UMass... Just win the freaking games and this is a non-issue.The Temple scheduling is pointless. Who schedules a Mohegan Sun stand alone game against a mid to bottom tier AAC school. That isn’t my point. Plus we only lose to them every other year. Next year we will with Gavin going 0-7 from the field with 3 TOs and the board will long for 2 star recruits.Injuries for Temple
Plus we didnt lose at 372 East Bumblebee A&M
What if they go 3-3 the rest of the wayMichigan is likely to lose 2 of next 3

Yes it'd be better to lose to Gonzaga than lose to Temple but the schedule was not our problem this year. Losing a neutral game to Temple and home games to bubble-or-worse Seton Hall, Nebraska, and Michigan is our problem.

Without the Gavitt Games and ACC challenge next year we shouldWhy can't we play 2-3 game neutral site tourneys like everyone else
Rutgers is competing against league rivals and other teams for a limited number of NCAA bids. How teams perform at the end of the season matters. The positive media attention towards Rutgers is waning at thr wrong possible time. This x100000
Last night was 1/20 of the big ten schedule
As I said last night …how we manage the grind to have a bounce back of play level and enerhy is the key
This will determine if the skid stops heading out to Chicago
ExactlyWhy can't we play 2-3 game neutral site tourneys like everyone else
Not with incompetent performances like last nightCan they get those 2 wins is the big question!
This. Just Minn puts us in Dayton. Get any other win to keep us out. PSU, NW, or B1GsPenn State is the key. Northwestern is going to be difficult and who knows who we get in the BTT. I'm thinking we still beat Minnesota, even as bad as we're playing its still not as bad as them. Also think that just one more win puts us back in Dayton
Here we go again with unsubstantiated “so and so is likely to w/l x” comments.Michigan is likely to lose 2 of next 3
