Auburn declares Newton ineligible based on the NCAA rule. This is pure show. They do this to show that they "will not tolerate rule violation" - bull. They tolerated it when they rolled Cam out on the field in the face of these allegations to begin with.
NCAA petitions reverse this decision and render him eligible. So they acknowledge that something happened, Cam didn't know about it. He is eligible to play. Which means the NCAA just bought themselves a lot of time and saved a lot of scrutiny in case the media continues to raze them over not getting anything done this season.
Ultimately this will all shake down, but it will take a LONG time before anything is completely proven and tracked.
Newton is basically Bush 2.0.
