"This team better get ready, because this offseason we're going to have to toughest training of any team in the country."
Or something to that effect.

that people would be saying, "What are they doing to those boys" when he starts the off season workouts.

"If you see one of our players on campus this spring, give them a hug because they'll be going through the toughest conditioning program they've ever been through."

injuries. We quit hitting in pads mostly after the first half of the season. Supposedly our regimen is more about having fun while practicing hard, but not all the drills and yelling and ****. Maybe it's just the refreshing change from the O, but it's obvious we were in better shape during games, and had far fewer injuries.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, or maybe it's just practicing for a new coach.

Not to argue, but I'm pretty sure he said toughest in the country... I only noticed because I expected him to say toughest they've ever been through.

But I don't believe for a second that Ole Miss doesn't do drills with yelling and **** during the Spring (which is what we are talking about here).

Maybe they can just understand what the coach is saying now.

but before you go off on me for trying to rain on your parade, remember that Caoch said that and when he did push them like he said, he ended up injuring a lot of players and caused us a lot more problems. I do think Mullen will have to be tougher on your boys than Croom was though.

its that he got us in much better shape and got us stronger. We were embarrassing physically before he got here.

I can't remember losing players to off season conditioning.

Until this year, I thought we'd had seriously tough spring practices & preseason practices. This year, we fatigued easier than we should have. In other years, I thought we were pretty well conditioned.

Anyway, with enough periodization (won't explain that here), you can wear yourself out silly without having to worry about injury. If we have trainers that know what' they're doing (think more Cohen and less Ron Polk) we can get to new levels in strength and conditioning. It wouldn't surprise me if Croom & crew were way off into ineffective old school methods.
