Is not burn bridges when we come in second on a recruit. Wan'Dale Robinson is the best example I can think of.
Vince Marrow has talked about being bummed out when WR picked Nebraska but handled it in a way that Robinson knew he would be welcomed back here if things did not work out at Nebraska.
They put so much time and effort into it and create relationships with these kids it has to be a bitter pill to swallow if they choose to go to another school.
With the portal being what it is today I think that is very important.

I think our fans on social media need to keep the same attitude, telling any who get away they will be welcomed back.

I think the DL transfer from Ohio State last year said we came in second the first time around and when it did not work out at OSU we came to mind due to the positive experience he had with us even though he did not choose us out of HS

Vince made a big deal after he tfered here from FSU in the media how they made it a concerted effort to take "nos" with class and respect. And he asked the fans to do the same. I think this staff does a good job of not taking it personal and looking it as a business decision for each kid compared to other staffs. And that has paid off in the long run.

Thank God he came back to us and it worked out great for both sides but in the case of Robinson, him having the big public signing ceremony and announcing for us and then switching to Nebraska I think is what really upset people. Again, so glad he did come back home.
