Erectile Dysfunction has a thread on this and apparently it’s all because Mike Leach wasn’t good enough to coach for this program.
Onewoof is pining for a time when leadership was the defining factor, like a Major League film.
Jake is gone. There will be no Jakes on the FB team. Even if we miraculously land one, he’ll transfer.

It gets easier the more you learn to embrace and accept the pain. Just notice it and let it be what it is. All things are temporary.

Even the first two games we win will have us all feeling sick to our stomachs

And then it will get worse
I’m afraid you are going to going to be right about this.
This has to be the least optimistic pre-season I can ever recall in my 51 year fandom of MS football. Even with Croom, I was somewhat optimistic and wooly that we would get to 6 wins somehow.
If we win 4, I may can get optimistic about 2026.

Just speaking for myself but with most of the players little more than well paid mercenaries with no allegiance to the school who leave after one year it makes it a whole lot easier to not give the first flying 17 what happens on Saturdays. Was a time I knew the names of the majority of the two deep. Right now I can maybe name two or three players on offense and not sure I can do that on defense.

I didn’t go to game last year they were so bad. I’m going to Hattiesburg to ensure I go to at least 1 this year. It shouldn’t but the game has me nervous. Huff brought in a ton of his guys so it should be a quick turnaround for USM. I don’t think they’re good but they’ll be significantly better than they were last year. We should be much better but who knows.

They’ll be better, but honestly if we don’t win by at leasyb2 touchdowns we’re an even worse team than I think we are. I may go to the Arizona St game. Not that I think we. A win but I enjoy these P4 home games vs teams I never get to see play live.

Yes, they are Delta State alums that yell ”hotty toddy” or they are Southern Miss alums that yell “geaux tigahs”
Yep. People just don't seem to get that for a lot of college fans out there, they are unaffected. If you like a big program blue blood team, which I'm guessing is the majority of fans just by proxy, you probably don't even follow the team daily and if you do, you usually get good news.

Only programs affected by this nonsense are the ones like ours. And nobody listens to us anyways.

College football is still great, there's more parity than ever, and we have a playoff. Saturdays are still awesome. Watching MSU football on Saturdays is.....not. Overall the TV product has gotten better for most. And eventually most MSU fans and the like will just opt for watching Clemson vs. LSU. It'll eventually end in a super league, but that league will be more like 60 teams, rather than 24.

So things won't change, it'll just become more and more of a TV thing. MSU's of world have to decide if they want to take the money and lose, or go G6 ultimately. In other words, accept losing 80% of the time. Because we obviously don't understand what type of coach and program we need at MSU, in order to rise up and compete some of the time.

I'm on the over 4 wins bandwagon. Looking at the players on the OL and having a new coach i dont see how that unit isn't much improved. I'm cautiously optimistic on the offense being good and hopeful the D will be decent. I am ready to see what happens

We looked poorly coached most of last year. That is my primary concern. We don’t have enough talent to overcome bad coaching. I sure hope I’m wrong on talent and coaching fronts.

Well at least none of our players will be a big disappointment to me cause I don't know a damn one of them.

Damn. Just looked at the schedule, only game we can ever make due to the store is always labor day weekend and the athletic department scheduled us away this year so we will have to lurk for a basketball or baseball trip now, and im pretty sure I won't bother with baseball this year because of all the wool.
