Making it to a bowl.

My question is how many of these players want to make that happen? The players probably can't comprehend that Nebraska has went to a bowl game every year but 4 years in the last 52 years.

Wondering if some are going to quit on the season and Riley. I hope not with 2 of our toughest games coming up against 2 undefeated teams and 2 other teams we should beat.

I guess more strange of things have taken place and I will still bleed red forever...However, it's really hard to see this team winning three more games...

I've said this before, if we lose to Purdue or Rutgers, I'd be in favor of a coaching change....You just don't go from winning 9 games in one season to only winning three or four games....That is not progress..

I can agree with what you are saying but I think NU would have to lose out and they would have to be ugly losses for a change to be mad. I just don't see that happening it is not like they are getting beat badly at all this year. And who knows, maybe a few breaks will go their way and they end up beating two top ten teams this year.

After yesterday I don't see the fire in the players to want to go to a bowl game.....And that falls on the Coach's too.

If they would loss out, is the brass of the university going to play monkey don't see, monkey don't hear and monkey don't speak?

Get it through your heads people, Riley will coach here for at least three more seasons and they it not going to change. Time to get behind him instead of trying to tear him down.

PS- Riley will not get rid of any staff either (ie Banker). These are all good coaches and will turn this around. Promise!

Who says I was tearing him down.. I just want the players to play hard the rest of the season and make a bowl game...

Stating the obvious if we lose out the wolves WILL be howling.

The only thing that can salvage this season for me is if we beat an undefeated Iowa team. That would be so sweet.
I'd rather win the next 3 (making us bowl eligible) and lose to Iowa than to lose the next 3 and beat Iowa. That's just me though.

Based on what? Did a Keebler elf give you this insight?

Especially beating Iowa in Lincoln, with half of the fans wearing black and gold.

I am going to make the trek to this game. I would love to see a win, but I am not going to call my uncle in Vegas to have him place a bet on the game for me.

Scarlet, it looked like some just don't want to make plays for Riley. And unlike in past losses where they waited till the last drives to disappear they did it the whole game. Isn't it something we were close to full strength yet we played with less passion and heart then at anytime in the season?????????
Youth & heart > junior's that won't make plays for Riley.

It is possible that we could go bowling, but I don't think the players have confidence in their coaches ability to do their part and guide them the rest of the season. Maybe in a few years when Riley gets his kind of players in there a bowl game is a reality but in the meantime we can only hope.

I keep hearing this same theme in other posts. It's either stated the players haven't (bought in, have confidence, buy in or trust) in Riley or the coaching staff. I could agree if we didn't know with explicit detail how the past staff operated (Us against the world). Also you can't ignore the fact that it's the older player's (Bo's players) that are dropping passes... missing tackles... not blocking... throwing interceptions and losing the games. Are these juniors losing games for Bo (got his back)??? That's for others to come to their own conclusions. But for me the Northwestern game made it pretty obvious who most of the team leaders allegiances are to (Mark Pelini).

Quit bashing these players for what is clearly not their fault or problem

How about 30% in black and gold, and another 20% dressed as empty seats?

Nice try. We aren't Iowa. Just in case you need a refresher, we have been sold out since 1962 and don't have to recruit on the message board to fill Kinnick for an undefeated team. Great work!

Quit acting like you know what you are talking about. You don't know sh*t about what our administration might do if we suffer through a losing season this year and next year. I don't see us being this bad next year, but who knows. If we are, I could very easily see them making a change. Especially if more empty seats start showing up.

Yeah, you bet, keep bragging about your sell out streak while losing to a bad Northwestern team and Iowa will keep on winning.

Nebraska fans should brag about that streak. It is an amazing streak and I think (hope) it will not end in my lifetime.

Great job on having one good season Io_a fans. I am sure that is more impressive to you than having a sellout every game since 1962.

Yeah, one good season, when was the last good season Nebraska had? Last BCS Bowl? Last season where they finished ranked in the top 10?

Correct, but about those Top-10 finishes?

How much do top 10 finishes really matter if you don't capitalize off of them? Ferentz had three consecutive top 10 finishes at the beginning of his tenure and then proceeded to average more than 5 losses a season after that.

And yet you still struggle to beat us when it counts. 1-3 since we joined the Big 10 to be exact.

come on huskerbaseball...you repeatedly get sucked into this too easy. Despite 3-1 being accurate we are +13, +6, -21, +3 in those four games, or a .25/gm differential during an era when they haven't been even up to their 'own standards' best.Your constant banter validates that they get under your skin....don't legitimize it.

I'm just stating facts. 1-3 is 1-3 no matter how close the games were. No matter how you slice it and dice it...we have scoreboard over them for the time being. If you are going to make excuses for them you might as well point out that the -21 came from NU starting a third string walk on QB.
