I got to see him play in the minors when he first came up and he always stayed after the game to sign autographs. Great guy, who knows where his career would have ended up if he hadn't gotten hurt.

Then he beat Halle Berry and I went to Chipper. Then he had an illegitimate child and I was left without a role model altogether.

We used to send cards to the stadiums for autographs. He signed and returned every card and then some. Had a letter, poster, and a photograph signed by Kirby sent back with the rest of my cards. Good guy.
