It seems as the game wore on they opened better holes. The first few series I was getting concerned that they couldn't open a gap vs the Vietnam war amputees.

OL is much better with Sherrod in there. We are not as good as we were last year, but we will be ok. Carroll has got to learn to move up in the pocket.

I know some Vietnam war amputees who could still kick our OLine's ***. Come to think of it, they could probably kick USC's line for a quarter.

I watched our LT #74 get pushed around like the smallest kid on the playground. We could't open holes against LA Tech or SE LA. Even when we moved the ball on the ground it was on the will of our RB's, not the will of our OL.

Speaking of the will of our RB, I think Bonner earned his place tonight....on the practice squad.

they were opening holes in the first quarter but we had two untimely TO's in the first half. But as you said, it's aGAINST SELA so it's hard to tell if they improved or was it the opponent.

Everything for our season will be judged next week. Because if we lose to Auburn, 1-4 is staring us straight in the face with @ GT and @ LSU following.

We will know for sure next week but if LaTech wore us down and we had to wear down SELA then Auburn will do what they want to us.

but the OL is the weaker of the 2. Let's face it, we haven't exactly played like an SEC team against our 1st 2 opponents. Yesterday, at home after an embaressing loss on National TV we still struggled on the OL. Dixon and Ducre made a lot of their yards after contact and Wes got hit too much. On the duck he threw at Bell, he got planted. He was trying to get rid of the ball quick before he got crunched but he got crushed anyway. I really wish he hadn't been jerked around last week. I agree, we will be looking 1-4 in the face in we don't pull off a miracle next week.

and Bonner looked like, well, a safety trying to play running back. Is Arnil Stallworth really THAT bad as a fourth string guy?

is really young in experience. We are going to miss M. Brown for the short term; but I hope Sherrod can step this weekend and make an impact on the left side. And hopefully Melichar or whoever is on the right side can do a great job.

Losing our center, Brown, and right tackle from last season is showing up now. We have to get better quick. Our next 3 games are tough. We have to win at least 1 of the 3. I would feel really good if we won 2 of 3. This team will decide if they can win 2 of the next 3 games.

But I could see us losing to Auburn and possibly winning at GA Tech. I think that's the key game to avoid the 1-4 start.

is I do think that we could possibly beat them with the talent that we have, but the only way we beat them is to make good coaching decisions. That's not going to happen. And even worse, this game is a must win for us.

MSU's offensive line starters average 291 pounds. SLU's defensive front, and it will usually be a three-man look, averages 268. Going the other direction, MSU's front four averages 265, while SLU weighs in at 290.
291 needs to be boosted to about 300

That we were that small. Obviously that is only 1 pound heavier than SLU's line, which is I-AA caliber. I wonder if they are counting Sherrod.

That brings me to this- why in the hell can't we recruit o-linemen? I can somewhat understand QB's with 20 play offenses at the high school level and people like Coach coaching them, but by God, we are the most obese state in the country, and we can't find five 300 pounders that can adequately block?

that's the million $$$ question and the billion $$$ question, why we (still) can't develop a QB

is already underway. Croom found himself with a weak OL after the Brown incident and unfortunitly did not make it a priority in this years class. When Sherrod went down Croom had a weakness instead of an assumed strength. Where is this JC Freeman(?). I thought he was all that and a bag of chips.

He already has offered 3 for the class of 2010. To me that speaks volumes. I hope we get all 3 of these with early committs
