Remember them being a tourney team basically every year? This year they are 0-12 in the Pac-10 (about to be 0-13, as they are getting skulldragged by UW) and are 6-18 overall.

Yet another reason why those quick to **** on what Rick Stansbury has accomplished should think twice.

Also, while watching Meeks put up 40+ at Bud Walton today, I realized that little ole Stansbury had his team shut down Patterson & Meeks AT Rupp and won. Yet, some on this board say that Pelphrey is a better coach than Stansbury. You'll never see MSU 1-10 in the SEC. Never.

You may very well be right. Ricky may very well be just be the best coach since basketball was invented. But, the facts are, that if we lose today, we will more than likely not make the NCAA Tourney. And if we dont make it this season, that makes 1 trip in the last 4 years. And that will also put his job on the line in 2009-2010.

That being said, there is no way we wont make the Tourney next year. Next years team will be loaded (barring transfers) with talent and experience. If he is ever going to make a Sweet 16, next year will be the year. I hope he picks up some better teams to make the schedule more RPI-friendly and get us ready for a better SEC and beyond.

nobody has us making the Tourney at this point. We have gotten off to a good SEC start, but there is alot of ball left to be played. Especially big games like today on the road.

My point is that we are a consistent winner, something that can't be said for every program. Ernie Kent, by your definition of coaching success, should be head and shoulders above Stans. So why does he possibly have the worst major conference team in America now? 0-effing-13 in the Pac-10? Maybe he should be lumped into the same pile as other "great coaches" who went to an Elite 8 like Gottfried and Brady.

Stansbury has sustained success, which is remarkable when you look at our history. No one, including me, has ever said "he's the best coach since basketball was invented". You know that as well as I do so stop making that **** up.
