Hell they will go after any big names waving Nike money...

Brings me to another question, what is the differences between AUB $92Mil arena and Oregon's $200Mil arena, besides $108Mil?

Maybe they will go after Stans next.
No way Izzo goes there, rumor is that Tubby wants out of Minny. Did you kow Tubby makes $2.5mill at Minny... Crazy..
Tubby actually makes $1.75 MM/yr. That may seem like splitting hairs, but $750K is $750 K - especially after a couple of years. <div>
</div><div>He's miffed because Minnesota was about 60 days late in paying him a $100K bonus last spring. But like I said the other day, I can't imagine why anybody would get into a bidding war over Tubby Smith.</div>

I'm pretty sure the guy at Gonzaga, Eddi Munster and a couple of others already turned them down. When you start a search by just throwing money at name coaches you usually end up getting embarrassed and looking like you settled when you finally find your guy.

But he turned them down because he couldn't play on his computer 20 hours a day. Too bad, he could have taken Fishwater, Thick, and Extreme, with him and then we would get to monitor their progress every minute of the day as he does here on Stans. Tubby probably will take it because the heat is on in Minnesota and he may not be there much longer anyway.

He was contacted twice this year already but he is not out trying to extort his employer like others. I do know this, nobody wants Coach and that probably includes most of this board.</p>

If it were true, which it isnt, probably UNC Wilmington and someone like DePaul. Hell, DePaul is too high...lets go with Houston.

You got NOTHING here. Every coaching hire in America has names leak out. Tubby to Auburn. Izzo to Oregon. Auburn alone was known to talk to the coaches at Wright State, Sam Houston and one other. No way Stans talks to two schools this year alone and is able to keep it quiet.

You inept s o.b.s will never know anything without reading it on this board. I feel sorry for you and Stans isn't one to play MSU. I could gived a **** what any of you anti Stansbury jerks think and he could care less too. Go off and jerk off together but he ain't leaving and I kind of wish he would so you jerks would look like even bigger idiots than you already are.

and considering Auburn's history in basketball is alot worse than our's, it's not out of the realm of possibilty that they contacted Sexton.

What Breezy doesnt understand, is that when we say offered jobs, we mean jobs that are a step up. Auburn basketball is almost as bad historically as Mississippi State football.

you, Coach34, fishwater99, etc. are 17ing idiots if you think that other schools haven't at least inquired about Stans's willingness to move on over the years. Stans would have been a hell of a lot better hire than the one Auburn made.

but by who? What assistant has he had hired away? Over the last 10 years has the SEC West,Ole Miss, Ark, Al, LSU and Auburn been any better than a middle of the pack mid major?

Nice to know. From now on I shall refrain from ever questioning the coaching abilities of one of OUR(as the sheep like to say)coaches, because I now know that by doing so I am being a bad person.

Sometimes I think that the sooner the blue hairs bite the dust the better. With the exception of patdog( and I don't think you are "old"), the average blue hair seems to have no expectations, loves individual coaches more than the school, values character over wins, and etc.

Genespage is overrun with these types.

I'm sure someone has been interested before, but i don't believe it this year. Plus, if he's just hidden it and never used it for leverage or even checked out what they'd offer him, he's an idiot. And no, I don't believe he got far enough to know what they would offer him and yet kept a word from being leaked out. I know there is no way in hell Sexton would keep something like that a secret, it's a way for him to get his name out there and make more money, and that's how Sexton operates.

I'm 100% certain that no Murray States, Belmonts, or UNOs of the world are in the list of schools that have inquired about hiring Stans. As for Auburn, they have more Sweet 16s than we do, and as we all know that's all that matters.

Interesting note, while checking on Auburn basketball on Wikipedia, I found out that Shug Jordan coached their basketball team for 10 years from 1933-1942 and 1945-1946.

As usual, when someone made overtures, you then say it doesn't count because then it is not a step up. You are one sick person.. I am convinced you are incapable of ever admitting you are wrong without some bs spin. And Dawg at Auburn, if you had any connections over there you'd find out they did make a contact but I doubt anybody talked money because Rick made it clear he was happy at MSU. That is more than I can say for you sick puppies. If you don't think other schools in this league would not be happy to have a coach as good as Stansbury, then you are so full of ****.

Ive never heard of a school askingthe MSUadministration to speakwith Stans.
Its at that point when he is being persued. Yeahthe school can use some back channel to contact Sexton, but nobody knows about that sort of **** one way or the other.

Ive never read Stans' name in a Katz blog entry concerning coaching possibilities. Add Goodmanand Parrish' blogs to Katz'.

I personally dont care if he is a candidate or not for other positions. There is something to be said for if nobody else wants him, then really how good is he and also apply that to his assistants.
But at the same time, he has beenat MSU for damn near 2 decades, his wife is an alum, and'Vegas is all his kids have ever known. There isnt much motivation to leave,so why be surprised that his name isnt mentioned much?

Basically, oh well if it isnt mentioned.

For the record though, it is NEVER mentioned.

You folks obviously don't know Rick Stansbury very well and I am sure you are amazed that someone might just happen to like where they live, coach, and raise a family. I can say this with absolute sincerety, you bastards don't deserve someone as good a he is. Go hire Kennedy or some other slob who will be about the same class most of you are. Also, I'm glad to know that gray hairs have no sense. One day you might think differently but if it wasn't for a lot of us gray hairs, this place would have folded up years ago because none of you would have put a dime into it and lots of us have through thick and thin but running off the best basketball coach in our history would be absolutely insane.

Sexton has possibly been approached as to his availability...but he wasnt really a candidate for it or any other job because its never leaked out that he was. EVER. Serious candidates names get mentioned.

It's really very easy to say "I don't want to leave Mississippi State" when nobody is calling for you. That's called Sports Agent spin.

Reporter- "How come Rick Stansbury's name never seems to come up for any big jobs?"

Sexton- "Ummm...uhhhhh...well, it's ummm because he doesn't ever want to leave Miss State. He loves it there."

Sexton overheard talking to Stansbury after press conference-
"Rick buddy, I'm not sure how much longer they are going to buy that "he just loves Miss State" garbage. You better make sure you keep control of scheduling and keep playing those weakass schedules so Miss State still loves you. And hey, are you ever going to make a Tourney run so we can ask for a raise?"
