I would hope if one of our players was sucker punched in front of his teammates, the guy who did the punching would at least be surrounded with potential of a beat-down. The Boise St. players just let him run away.

it was the smart thing to do to not fight back, but the Boise players should have been men about it and should have stuck up for their teammate. It says a lot about those guys who just sat there and watched it happen, not to mention Peterson saw the whole thing and never looked to see who hit him, he just got his player off the ground and kept talking to him. but the attack on the fans was even more in tents. Can't remember the last time I saw a rampaging player dragged off the field by cops, security, a coach, and players.

That easily made up for a stupendously crappy game. Best fight in college football I've seen in a long time.

Hout clearly taunted Blount and Hout should get at least a one game suspension for that. Blount should be kicked off the team, if not just for the punch in the jaw but for his actions all the way into the locker room.

I'll give Peterson credit for instantly getting in Hout's face for taunting Blount. The fact that none of the Boise players went after Blount should keep them out of the BCS Championship game.

If you watch the replay you will see that the Boise HC was right there in between his players and the Oregon TB/Boxer.

To me it speaks of how much more respect Peterson has with his players since they didn't retaliate. I know it was taunting on the BSU player's part but the TB said in the press that they owed BSU an ***-whooping. They shut him down and his reaction was pathetic.

It's a good thing they don't have a game scheduled in an SEC stadium. If he thought being taunted by fans at Boise State was bad, imagine Tiger Stadium or the Swamp.

Yeah, I think the only people/person in the right on this thing was Peterson and the Boise players. Call them pusses or whatever but you don't go retaliating after a teammate asks for it.

The fans.......I don't know why fans think they have the right to taunt players. Just because you bought a ticket and are on the first row, doesn't give you the right to say whatever the hell you feel like. Even if it is in defense of a player at your university who doesn't know said fan or could give two ***** about said fan. With that said, Blount should have not reacted. He should have let the fact that he is a FBS football player and the middle aged pot belly losers and skinny punks are spectators speak for itself.

Um, have you ever been to a baseball game at Dudy Noble and sat in the out field or near the other team's bullpen?

If you run your mouth talking **** leading up to a game and fail spectacularly to back it up, you deserve to have **** talked back to you. The Boise player did not deserve to be sucker punched, unless you think the Oregon guy deserved to be sucker punched before the game, since he was the one who talked **** in the first place.

I'm not saying you're wrong if you decide to take the high road (obviously not). But I have no problem whatsoever with taunting some guy who ran his mouth in the lead up to the game.

Their "trash talking" is mainly stuff like "We're gonna beat you...OOOOOOO....You just got told off". It so juvenile, it's actually humerous. I felt like I was in fourth grade again.

They're probably the same people that write jokes for Laffy Taffy.

No telling what the Tiger Stadium fans would do to him, that would be off the charts, whiskey bottles, probably a fan or two would jump his *** and it would be on....

Yeah, I was just trying to say the Boise player should have taken the high road. I understand talking trash after a tackle or big play during the game. But to seek out the guy and get in his face is just stooping to the Blount's level.....not that those actions give the Oregon player the right to punch him. But your team won and you held the guy down most of the game. Let that do your talking.

But don't think for a second that Mr. High Character himself (Orgeron) din't recruit him.

He was going to be a rebel, but couldn't meet SEC academic requirements.</p>

I guess that's true. I guess I should say I have no problem with talking **** non-stop to that guy during the game, but you're right seeking him out like that is kinda ******.

Or something to that effect. You can kinda read the Boise players lips. Blount told the media they were going to give Boise an *** whoopin, so I guess Hout was just being a smart ***.

I think Blount deserved the taunting. He started it anyway.

blount's punch was not a sucker punch. the guy walked by, talked some trash, and hit him on the shoulder. he should've been ready for blount's reaction. instead...

To me, there is a difference talking **** before the game which everyone does and taunting after the game. The Boise St guy should not have got in his face. He was just as much a punk as the Oregon guy.

The biggest mistake the guy did was his interaction with the fans after the incident.

i would have more of a problem with blount going artest on the way out than with his reaction to being hit and provoked. sure, it was wrong to throw the punch. but there's no excuse for trying to go after a fan, even if they are taunting.

He started the confrontation and he threw the first punch. However, I think the Oregon player should probably be kicked off the team. He was fighting with HIS OWN TEAMMATES immediately before the confrontation started and has already been kicked out of at least one practice this fall. Not to mention the whole going after the fans thing.

The biggest issue I have is him going after the fans. That's why I send him packing. Punching the player is a two or three game suspension (that the NCAA might take care of anyway) but when you lose it for a good five minutes showing that level of rage and then you go after some fans, well your *** can't be trusted on a football team. After seeing the look in his eyes you know this is going to end with him choking his pregnant girlfriend to death anyway...

The point is, the Boise St. player started the confrontation and made first contact. He deserved what he got. Nice slow-motion fall, there.
