RealDawg.com has learned that a time “Around Memorial Day” is when there will be an official announcement that both the University of Washington and the University of Oregon are leaving the Pac-12 Conference for the B1G Conference. The move won't occur until 2024 or 2025.1 day ago

Hard to believe any of this stuff until it’s officially official, but this isn’t surprising. As we know the B1G and SEC are on the full court press kill off the 3 other power conferences. Football is a dead end, dump the resources into hoops.

The question I hear now is how much Fox will step up to fill the money gap from ESPN's pro rata... and how many schools can be added to Big 12. I also hear there is a desire for new markets for the Big12 which doesn't translate well for Utah. Look for Colorado...Arizona...Washington St...Oregon State. That opens NW and basketball only invite to Gonzaga.

Just please change the name of the conference to something sensible like Conference USA 2.0 or the Big Refrigerator Conference since it contains all the leftovers.

Several months ago I did a timeline for all this. I’m pretty sure it is all consistent with what I thought.

Can someone dig that up for me? I’m tired.

I am a bit surprised by Washington over Cal or Stanford. I'd figure the Northern California market is more lucrative than all of Washington state. Oregon was a foregone conclusion.

I don’t see either of those schools aligned to the new idea of big time football, which is basically NFL-lite
