Monday Cable Ratings: O'Reilly Posts Huge Numbers While Addressing 'War Zone' Controversy
by Mediaite Staff | 5:33 pm, February 24th, 2015 RATINGS
8

On Monday evening, Bill O'Reilly dedicated much of his O'Reilly Factor hour on Fox to addressing the allegations that he has embellished claims about his reporting of the Falklands War back in 1982. Because that storyline is the dominant media story of the past several days, O'Reilly posted huge ratings to come in first place for both total viewership and the key ages 25-54 demo.

By racking up 568k viewers in the demo, O'Reilly's Fox 8 p.m. hour doubled its CNN competitor in Anderson Cooper (209k) and tripled the numbers of MSNBC's Chris Hayes (136k).

In total viewership, O'Reilly broke the 3 million threshold (3.34M, to be more precise), beating Cooper (545k) and Hayes (583k) by nearly six times. His 3M+ viewers made last night the network's highest-rated broadcast of the Factor since the evening of the Ferguson grand jury verdict back in November.

Also worth nothing: For the month of February, The O'Reilly Factor posted a demo average of 550K viewers, its highest count since November 2012.

Have got to start watching that again. He has always had high ratings and absolutely blows MSNBC, CNN, and those farther left leaning away. I guess it was my fault that I couldn't enjoy his show. Obviously not a problem with the other viewers. Do you think some of his popularity is scheduling between the good-looking women on Fox?

He's smart, but arrogant. Unlike others, I like his emotional outbursts when guests either don't answer or evade. I think Fox's brightest star is Megyn Kelly. Great looks, really smart with a terrific personality. She's worth your time to check her out.
