I don't know if "nothing" gets done. Things are getting done, but we're not necessarily being told the truth about 'em. We'll have constant battles over what is true and what isn't over the next 4 years, that's already been established.
Never thought I'd see the day where facts are posted as opinion, and opinion is offered as fact.
Unreal.
The problem is that most folks today are clearly divided into two distinct groups, following two distinct outlets to gather their information. They will only hear what they want to hear. They will only interpret what they hear to move their own specific agenda.
It's a shame it's come to this. It didn't use to be this way. Once upon a time, you could actually turn on the TV, and get an unbiased newscast, or read a newspaper that provided both sides of the story, thus allowing the viewer or reader to establish their opinion based on accurate portrayal of the events.
I'm not sure how this country can change its ways, in order to have Americans of both sides work towards the common good of the country. It's pretty much divided on party lines, with the exception of a few leaders, one of which, is Senator Joe Manchin. I'm not sure how highly thought of he is within his own state, but he's looked at fondly throughout the country, one that's willing to base his opinions on the good of the country, as opposed to following the lead of his congressional leader.
I truly believe something has to change soon, or one day we're all going to wake up and it's going to be too late. Riots, killings, and lack of moral values will simply be a part of a society everyone is willing to accept.
