Osby said he struggled finding his rhythm as a player in the four out/one in based sets because he felt uncomfortable on the perimeter as much as the offense called for.
“I felt a lot last season that I could post up my guy who was usually 6-foot-4 or 6-foot-5 and get easy buckets that way but I never had the opportunity,”

Despite the lack of depth in the frontcourt experience coming back next year, Osby told The Starkville Daily News he was convinced he wouldn’t be considered for significant minutes during the 2010-11 season.
“I had given it two years and it didn’t seem like it was going to get any better for me,” Osby said. “I understand that young players need to wait their turn but this wasn’t going to work out.”

I think the guy has a lot of talent. Just not the type of talent that will allow him to thrive in the perimeter oriented offense we apparently have been trying to run recently. He should go somewhere else where he can use his size to his advantage. If he wants to play beyond college ball, that's the only way he'll get there.

he just was not that good. Not a good ballhandler ,couldn't shoot off the dribble. And if he is smart he will go to a smaller school. Just ask Jai Lucas how well that worked out transferring from Florida to Texas</p>

he just didn't fit intothe "offense"or whateverStans calls it.
Finishing 7thin scoring offense inst that bad, and coupled with the second best D in the league results in a good formula for success. We only averaged .7 points less a game than the dynamic Bruce Pearl offense .

Osby is a high post player that would be great at pick and rolls and doing a quick post on a smaller player if he's at the "3". I agree with his own assesement that his skills didn't fit this system.

And even if he had posted, it's not like we had many guys who could have made a decent entry pass

What is so odd about his comments is that he fancied himself as a SF and a Point-Forward while in high school being recruited. I remember both reading and seeing video of him talk about how he can grab a rebound and go, initiate an offense, and work into the paint from the outside.

So how is him starting on the perimeter in Stans' offense not allowing him to start there and work into the paint? That seems just like what he said he can do when he was a recruit.

His ball handling clearly didnt pan out for him to initiate jack, but he could still do what he said hewanted to do in the half court.

I agree with the overall view that he didnt fit the offense, he often just seemed out of place on the court.

As for him posting up players...he never seemed at ease in the post as a freshman or soph.
