It won’t be a super popular opinion on this board, judging by the 2 laughing reacts to your post, but I absolutely agree with you.I hope there is much more of this.
Well, apparently mask bans weren’t the most effective strategy. Magiving action a chance versus inaction maybe makes sense.Leftists are going to leftist...if this doesn't concern you then you don't realize that ideaolouges will do this with any other issue they deem critical to "health and safety" i.e. climate change.
Oregon and Hawaii are drowning in Covid despite the strictest vaccine and masking mandates in the country. It's pure hubris to think you can control this virus via government mandate.Well, apparently mask bans weren’t the most effective strategy. Making giving action a chance versus inaction maybe makes sense.
maybe it’s not a leftist thing, but a common sense thing…
Ive never had polio…vaccine likely had something to do with it…
So your solution is to ignore any opportunity to control it, and surrender?Oregon and Hawaii are drowning in Covid despite the strictest vaccine and masking mandates in the country. It's pure hubris to think you can control this virus via government mandate.
Leftists are going to leftist...if this doesn't concern you then you don't realize that ideologues will use a precedent like this to enforce any other mandates they deem critical to "health and safety" i.e. climate change.
Most of the bad cases of covid i.e hospitalizations here in hawaii are from non vaccinated people. It’s something like 90%. Yes you can still get it with the vaccine but chances are it won’t be nearly as bad as it would without.Oregon and Hawaii are drowning in Covid despite the strictest vaccine and masking mandates in the country. It's pure hubris to think you can control this virus via government mandate.
When did we become a society that refuses to believe in science when it tells us things that we don’t like to hear?Leftists are going to leftist...if this doesn't concern you then you don't realize that ideologues will use a precedent like this to enforce any other mandates they deem critical to "health and safety" i.e. climate change.
I agree with this but when I added my like to the post the laughing imojo? appeared next to it, and there was only one compared to a lot of posts. Isn't this misleading? It won’t be a super popular opinion on this board, judging by the 2 laughing reacts to your post, but I absolutely agree with you.
Don’t take this offensively, but I literally don’t know what you’re trying to say.I agree with this but when I added my like to the post the laughing imojo? appeared next to it, and there was only one compared to a lot of posts. Isn't this misleading?
The moment high speed internet was available to the masses. The sharing of misinformation has become a pandemic in itself. I do know that the uncertainty of the virus and its ability to mutate and change so quickly has made it hard for both science and the public to keep up with. When did we become a society that refuses to believe in science when it tells us things that we don’t like to hear?
Fourteen likes to the original post, five likes for this one. Do we live in a democracy or does the minority rule, like they did the Presidential election?Leftists are going to leftist...if this doesn't concern you then you don't realize that ideologues will use a precedent like this to enforce any other mandates they deem critical to "health and safety" i.e. climate change.
When math and numbers prove science to be ineffective. When did we become a society that refuses to believe in science when it tells us things that we don’t like to hear?
You have a lot of intelligent posts on sports, your stand on this is just stupid, IMO, and it seems like almost all of the experts agree. Yes, and even less effect 0f the shot on the young and healthy. Of course not taking the shot may endanger all your teammates (and fans) from having the great season we are all looking forward to. If people had listened to your kind of logic (illogic?) the virus would have wiped out a lot of people, not even considering the effect smallpox and Aids would have had. And have you ever heard of the flu shot? It’s pretty comical at this point regarding the extreme these schools are going to considering the virus has very little to no effect whatsoever on primed college athletes
Ah yes. Hence why they’re coming out with booster number 3 because people are starting to get some cold symptoms.Yes, and also even less effect on those that take the shot. Of course not taking the shot may endanger all your teammates from having a great season.
What do I know, just what I read from experts (where is your medical degree from) and I tend to believe them more than some fraidy cats.
Where do you think the world would be without the vaccines?
Where is your proof, a few isolated cases compared to the lives saved by the vaccine? And please, don't tell me you think all the money and time spent on the vaccine was wasted. When math and numbers prove science to be ineffective.
Exactly.Ah yes. Hence why they’re coming out with booster number 3 because people are starting to get some cold symptoms.
I’m a huge believer in herd immunity. People are going to die either way whether it’s from Covid or other circumstances. I think we would be much better off if we would have isolated the much higher risk people while others continued about their lives. At this point, they’re diluting our own body’s antibodies as opposed to letting them adapt themselves.
The common flu is a perfect example. Some people get the flu shot, others don’t (I don’t). I haven’t had the flu in over 15 years.
At some point you have to let your body do what it’s naturally designed to do and fight off viruses and bacteria.
Delta variant has changed that equation. It’s killing young kids now. It’s pretty comical at this point regarding the extreme these schools are going to considering the virus has very little to no effect whatsoever on primed college athletes
Right. But at what point is 1 person’s “freedom” more important than controlling the spread of a virus that has killed millions across the globe? You are going to die. It's just a matter of when.
Freedom within a society to act unencumbered by the interference of third parties or the State.

Ideally all people would voluntarily get the vaccine. But we are in America, where for whatever reason, that’s not the case.By the way, I am vaccinated and I would encourage everyone to get the shot as well. I just believe that people can think the vaccine is a good idea without advocating for governments and organizations to mandate it or else calling for the healthy to be quarantined. It is a terrible precedent to set.
That precedent was set a long time ago.By the way, I am vaccinated and I would encourage everyone to get the shot as well. I just believe that people can think the vaccine is a good idea without advocating for governments and organizations to mandate it or else calling for the healthy to be quarantined. It is a terrible precedent to set.
As a healthcare professional , polio was beaten with 23 years of research and a vaccine that was 99.5 % effective. Try againSo your solution is to ignore any opportunity to control it, and surrender?
how did we beat polio? Strange…
and the anti-government folks in Oregon ignore masks…and all laws in general.
agree the government mandate doesn’t mean success…requires people to think and follow.
Kinda like how people are still killed by speeders…can’t blame the government…they posted a speed limit…
Pretty sure he was insinuating that polio was eradicated by a vaccine. As a healthcare professional , polio was beaten with 23 years of research and a vaccine that was 99.5 % effective. Try again
Mainly kids who’s immune system aren’t developed enough to fight the virus. Combine that with the people whose immune system is too depleted to fight the virus, that’s virtually all of the deaths. Still barely anything for the conditioner college aged kidsDelta variant has changed that equation. It’s killing young kids now.
Absolutely not true at all. The assumptions that are being made are truly head scratching. I’ll digress, however.Mainly kids who’s immune system aren’t developed enough to fight the virus. Combine that with the people whose immune system is too depleted to fight the virus, that’s virtually all of the deaths. Still barely anything for the conditioner college aged kids
What the hell is this, someone puts up a dumb sign and everyone that posts after that has it by their name like it is theirs. Very misleading, need to change that.Well, apparently mask bans weren’t the most effective strategy. Magiving action a chance versus inaction maybe makes sense.
maybe it’s not a leftist thing, but a common sense thing…
Ive never had polio…vaccine likely had something to do with it…
If someone says they are against masks and vaccines, seems like they are rooting for the virus…
Huh?What the hell is this, someone puts up a dumb sign and everyone that posts after that has it by their name like it is theirs. Very misleading, need to change that.
This.Good. Hopefully the life and health insurance companies begin risk rating policies based on vaccination status. That would help put a stop to the antivax nonsense.
Don’t want to get vaccinated? Here’s your $150k bill for ECMO.
