That’s one I’ve never watched. I’ve never been a war movie/show guy, but from everything I’ve heard that one is worth the exception.

I put The Wire and Sopranos 1/2 on my list. Not really sure who I put 3rd.

Mad Men is way up there. Justified for pure enjoyment (other than season 5). The Americans is really good. I liked Fargo a lot, but probably slightly less than the Americans.

I’m in the middle of Deadwood right now, and it belongs in the conversation. Need to see how GOT finishes up, but it has some of the greatest single episodes of all time.

The Wire and True Detective Season 1 are an easy Top 5 in my book.

I have every season of The Wire on DVD haha old school. I watch The Wire once a year.

Yeah, I’ve watched it all the way through 3 times. Gets better every time.

I really should go back and watch TD season 1 again. My recollection is that it was close to a 10 all season, then the finale was more like an 8 (for me). So that’s what has stuck with me.

As opposed to something like Carnivale, which was a mildly intriguing 8 until the finale blew the rest of the show out of the water (and made you sick that it got cancelled).

Have you watched TD season 3 yet?

And I never heard of Carnivale.

I watched season 3. Liked it quite a bit. Funny, but the finale was poorly rated compared to the rest of the season. I actually liked the way they handled it, even though my first impulse was to be disappointed. I think that was by design. Have you seen it?

Also, Carnivale is another old HBO show, good vs. evil fantasy stuff. Was supposed to be 6 total season, 3 pairs of seasons. They only finished the first pair. If you ever watch it you will be sorry they cancelled it. But it also would have been easy to turn off in the first season, so I’m not surprised it was cancelled.

Yeah I liked TD season 3. I liked how it was more of that season 1 kinda vibe.

Plus I live in the Ozarks so it had me pretty pumped when they announced it was going to be based here.

And yeah I thought the finale was pretty legit, I thought they did a good job of ending that season.

HBO puts out a lot of really good TV series. I’ll have to check out Carnvale.

The last HBO show I watched before TD season 3 was a show called The Deuce with James Franco(pretty good show) and it was created by David Simon and has a lot of the same actors as The Wire.

Yeah, I’ve watched both seasons of the Deuce. Not up to The Wire level but some strong performances. Loved the way the last season ended.

Oh most definitely not The Wire level and man I still haven’t seen the last two episodes of The Deuce cuz Dish and HBO had a fall out so had to buy TD season 3 online to watch and gonna have to do the same with Deuce.

Good to know that season ended well, prolly gonna finish that off this weekend.

what was the story with Kev? What happened? Did he really leave the board until October?

I’m just enjoying life. Playing a lot of golf and really into betting the ponies.

I didn’t realize how many people here hated me.

I realized after the season ended, I was taking this stuff way too seriously.

I’ll always be a fan, but it’s silly to become so emotionally involved with it.

I’ll occasionally post on the Paddock and the football board, and I’ll still check out RR once a week or so, but life is too short to be getting upset over teenagers playing basketball.

I’m not sure why it took me 52 years to realize this. Perhaps I’m just maturing later than most. lol

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life.

The typical Kev sort of stuff we've seen before. You know ...when that guy gets in a mood...

The funniest part, though, was the exact same day he had his post announcing he was leaving the board til next season, a brand new name (I forget what it was) registered and started a thread claiming he was one of those "longtime lurkers" who then chewed us out for not showing proper respect to a "great poster" like Kev69. I believe he later also taunted us for supposedly not being as successful as Kev in real life.

That name then disappeared right after people pointed out that it looked like Kev using a new name.
I kinda liked the guy, does that make me bad? Asking for a friend.

I’m still around.

I’m just not going to post on RR until the season starts, but I still like reading everyone’s posts.

Life is great, and things couldn’t be better. I hope you’re doing well.

Glad things are well with you...you are good in my book.

This would be my guess.

That guy has clearly posted under multiple names before (and basically been busted on it a few times I've seen). I'd guess he's doing it again. If you see a new name who irrationally loses his **** if someone mentions the NBA ...well, good chance that's Kev.
Lol. Uh, wrong.

You’re giving me way too much credit, because I wouldn’t have any clue how to do that, (Not to mention the fact why in the world would I? ) but you keep telling yourself that and I’ll keep laughing.

I don’t think a bunch of people hate you. I think it’s just been the mob mentality this board has. A couple people say something and that’s the direction the thread will take.

I’ve always thought you were a good poster and enjoyed your posts.

Kev had to hit rock bottom before he could climb the mountain of redemption.

I treat it like a game at this point guys. I'm 31, have a 7 month old son and a stay at home fiance (our choice) so we are a one income household so I didn't even catch every game last season due to new baby and working 50 hours a week. I still was mad we lost, but got over it fast. The Wisconsin game was probably my turning point as well, I think I was 27 at the time...still very immature but realized winning or losing didn't change my life either way. 2012 was amazing but didn't change my life for the better, working hard, finding the right woman and having a baby did. I digress.

You do what is best for you Kev.

Thanks.

I’m not sure what exactly changed after the Auburn loss for me. Looking back now, I think it finally dawned on me that I was far more upset about it than the actual players and coaches.

At age 52, I’m way too old to get upset by teenagers losing a basketball game.

I’m just going to enjoy every single day I have left on this earth. I’ll still go to all the home basketball and football games just like I have for 25 plus years, however, I’ll never get upset again about the outcome of a game.

being emotionally tied to the team is what in being a fan a UK fan is all about...nothing wrong with being upset; it makes you (us) human. and even better if (for) you realize that you were too upset...
