Pretty sure Tiger withdrew due to 12 strokes back and cold and rainy. What does he have to prove anymore? He made the cut to continue the streak. He is obviously in a tremendous amount of pain. He still has 28 holes to play. No one would blame him.
He was noticeably limping on 17 before they postponed the 3rd round yesterday.Pretty sure Tiger withdrew due to 12 strokes back and cold and rainy.
He’s not trying to prove anything, he’s just a competitor doing what he loves. What does he have to prove anymore? He made the cut to continue the streak. He is obviously in a tremendous amount of pain. He still has 28 holes to play. No one would blame him.

I don’t shoot in the low 70s anymore like I did when I played competitively. Still play all the time because I love the game even though I no longer have anything to “prove” by winning tournaments or shooting personal records. I suspect it’s something similar for him, otherwise he would have hung it up a long time ago.
I thought for sure that was going to be hung up in the fringe or even before that - amazing shot. On the flip side, I'm still stunned that both Koepka and Bennett (especially Bennett) had their 3rd shots not roll into the water on 15 after spinning back off the green - two inches of rain probably kept them in play. And Hovland's run of birdies on 11-15 was fantastic.Morikawa’s Texas wedge on 18th was sick. That thing look like it was going to stop way before the green and it just kept on rolling at the slowest pace I’ve ever seen a golf ball roll.
He absolutely does. Hell, all the news he's made the last 10 years has been sex, drugs, divorce, accidents, etc.I think he's hoping to catch lightening in a bottle and grab another Major.
Is it just me or does Tiger seem to be a miserable guy for a guy who's worth $1B and plays golf for a living?
Judge much?!
Purchase a car or use their parents, what does it matter? My daughter got a brand new car a week before she turned 17.. so did all her friends and most of the juniors. Doesn’t mean we don’t parent correctly. lol
She wasn’t allowed on highways for a very long time.
She basically drives to work and school.
We have an app that can track her speed. She abuses that and her Dad takes the car.
Back to thread topic-
Terrible tragedy. My heart breaks for their families.
Yeeeeah. Did you see his car after the accident and the number of injuries he had to his leg? Not saying he hasn't been less than a model citizen, but I don't think he has the physical ability to play very well any more.He absolutely does. Hell, all the news he's made the last 10 years has been sex, drugs, divorce, accidents, etc.
I think the decline in his game is far more driven by the decline in his mental strength and not his physical ailments.
I did, and I don't believe that's why he's not the player he was.Yeeeeah. Did you see his car after the accident and the number of injuries he had to his leg? Not saying he hasn't been less than a model citizen, but I don't think he has the physical ability to play very well any more.
Nobody's the player Tiger was.I did, and I don't believe that's why he's not the player he was.
What? The guy can barely walk but you don't think that it is a physical issue??? Before his accident but after his divorce, public issues he did win a Masters in 2019. Did you forget that?I did, and I don't believe that's why he's not the player he was.
Agreed. Tiger battled an incredible array of injuries prior to the accident, keeping him away from the game for long stretches, and the accident almost left him unable to walk. It's amazing he can even walk the course, let alone compete. I have no doubt that he'd still be competitive on tour if he were healthy (like we saw when he won the Masters in 2019 before the accident), given his mental strength.Yeeeeah. Played football in the fall and golf spring/summer. I played much better golf in the spring and early summer because I wasn't bulking up lifting weights for football. Weight has nothing to do with golf. Keep the belly! Flexibility is much more important, making that full turn is where the power and accuracy is.Love to see guys with different swings win. Was thinking about dropping some lbs after seeing Mickelson’s success but Rahm won so I’ll keep my belly.
So do IMy god. You just hate the LIV players!
He hit a provisional off the tee - what would be his 3rd shot, in case they couldn't find his original tee shot in the woods - he didn't know they had already found it, but once that was clear, he could just play the original ball as his 2nd shot. Was at my family Easter dinner and wasn’t really paying close attention to the Masters. I saw Rahm tee off on 18 and hit his ball in the woods. Or at least I thought it was Rahm. Brooks hits the fairway and then Rahm tees off again and hits the fairway. On his next shot Rahm was hitting 2 from the fairway. How was that possible? Or did someone else tee off first on 18?
There will be talk about Koepka not being able to go 72 holes with LIV tournaments only going 54.Brooksy broke down later than I thought he would. He played solid in the bad weather yesterday but pretty much 27 back to back did him in. He was all over the place today
Thanks! But if his original ball was in the woods, why did he hit #2 from the fairway? Or did his first kick out into the fairway? If so weird he hit a provisional. It kicked out into the rough short of the fairway. Rahm didn’t realize it had kicked out and played the provisional as a precaution. Thanks! Once you start spraying it all over the place it's not frustration. Any other course other than Augusta he would have been like an 80 or more. As long of a course as it is , it is very forgiving. The pine trees branches usually start like 10 ft off the ground and the rough at AugustaThere will be talk about Koepka not being able to go 72 holes with LIV tournaments only going 54.
I don’t buy it. My gut feeling is Koepka was frustrated by a very slow pace of play. He and Rahm were waiting on guys ahead of them the entire front 9. And Koepka gets notoriously annoyed at slow play. Just a hunch.
That said, Rahm faced the same situation and dealt with it much better. He won and Koepka lost.
Or his frustration at the slow pace caused him to lose a bit of focus resulting in spraying it all over the place.Once you start spraying it all over the place it's not frustration. Is like being in a well maintained fairway at a municipa course. 27 back to back in cold, rainy, cold weather very tough on a completely reconstructed knee.
His caddy should have never let him pull his driver on 18th tee. That drive was beyond horrible deep into trees have no idea how that one made it back to the rough. Having caddied alot of yrs there is no telling where a ball goes hit that badly. He had to get lucky and hit tree flush to bounce that far back into play. He was looking at a double if ball was t foundiThanks! But if his original ball was in the woods, why did he hit #2 from the fairway? Or did his first kick out into the fairway?
