This should knock off Africa and South America as far as hosts so that things go back to normal in another European country in 2034.
100%Did somebody say ROAD TRIP?
Isn’t it really 3 countries? Way I read it Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay are only playing 1 game at home. Then the rest will be in host countries. As with most things, some of the charms of these events are dissipating.
Qatar hosting was ridiculous as the country couldn't host all the people that wanted to attend and people would get day passes to come in and out of the country for a game. Despite the way Qatar got the event, it could have been very cool to attend as you would have the entire soccer universe in a small geographic area allowing a ton of intermingling between fans and an easy experience.
Having a small/mid-size country host makes a great trip...but six countries, 3 continents, is just ridiculous.

Good point but it is 20 years to get back. After this, back to “Egypt” in 2050-ish?Africa already hosted in 2010…

Unless some country has a few $trillion they can spare!FIFA can always change the rules, but no continent can host two in a row.
With the 48 team format, CONMEBOL is getting 7 slots anyway (6 assured - 1 play in which they usually win and with the 48 format, their play in game is a lot easier).Paraguay and Uruguay must’ve bribed very well in order to get those auto bids.
