It's kind of depressing the lack of talk around here. Not surprising though. So, with the holidays on us, what is everyone doing today/tomorrow to celebrate our nation's birthday?

I just had some BBQ that my MIL brought over. Just got a workout so I could enjoy all the cals. Going to grill some ribeyes tomorrow. Watch some baseball. It's hot here in DFW. Stay in as much as I can during the day. Might hit the Arlington parade tomorrow morning. We'll see how the missus feels. Would like to catch a fireworks show. Who says you get too old for this stuff?

Was at a friends lake on Saturday, will be at another friends lake tomorrow. Grilled chicken wings and sweet corn tonight and having a fire with my good buddy Jameson (and squirt with bitters).

The lakes had/have nice fireworks displays. So I am sticking to smoke bombs, parachute men, snaps and black cats due to living in the woods and that my oldest is almost 3 and just wants smoke bombs and parachute men.

Edit: Cloud made me realize I forgot the most important part, USA! USA! USA! If you don't love it, leave it. God bless the USA. Wahooooooo!

I've been real busy lately will be on the road next week, in August, then in Eugene and in Lincoln for N. Ill, Northwestern and then Indy to watch NU in the title game :) I'm taking this 4-day weekend to catch up, yard work, fix stuff, etc. Call me boring, but there is something to be said about staying at home and being glad I live in the best country ever.

Been raining all nite. Heard it still raining outside. Open the blinds and it's still raining. I got up early to go watch the parade. Check the radar and it's almost passed. That's good news. Should be cooler today, but still dry for all the festivities.

Went to Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Co. July 1st, great racing (the jet dragsters are awesome). They had an amazing fireworks show, as good as I've ever seen. Will go to another fireworks show tonight, should be fun as well.

I have seen several fireworks displays in my day, and the one off the barge in one of seattle's bays ranks very near the top. I would recommend this city, even though I don't like cities!
