OT: 5 days later and I can't get the Walking Dead Finale out of my head.

What is it about that show that is so addictive? I have seen plenty of zombie movies and none held my attention like this show. Gonna be a long wait for season 3.

and seems to be written by high school kids. I mean what writer thinks the same character would routinely lose her kid in the midst of a zombie apocalypse?

However, I love the show and it plays out in my head all the time. Makes me wonder about myself sometimes.

Exactly. Either Carl is a ninja or Lori has the maternal skills of a Real Housewife. You can't keep the only living kid under 21 in the entire group from constantly wandering off into the woods by himself..and at night no less? Chain the 17er to the bed.

I watched the finale again yesterday at lunch. A few thoughts:

Andrea is becoming much more of a bad *** than I expected.
They have got to include Tyresse
I hope that Michonne is as awesome on the show as she is in the book.
You don't think Carol will do "it" do you?
Damn that was an awesome shotgun Herschel had...must have been missing the plug

If anyone has the slightest thoughts of wanting to watch that show, i recommend getting caught up before season 3....it's going to be epic.</p>

Carol on the show seems totally different than Carol in the book but it would not surprise me for her to not make it to the end of season three.

I just don't see how they can even halfway follow the books without the character of Tyreese plus they are going to need alot more muscle once the Governor shows up.

Every time I start to get the slightest bit bored with this show, they pull some What The 17 moment like this one. I'm actually not a big fan of zombie movies because I think that 4 out of every 5 are horrible, but I'm hooked on this show. It's the perfect mix of horror, drama, action for me. Also, it's not like I think any of these guys are going to win an emmy, but I guess I don't feel like the acting is that awful. I think that a few of them like Darryl are actually pretty good.

The acting isn't what's the problem, some of the writing is just weak around a few characters. The acting from those behind Daryll, Andrea, Rick, Glen, Maggie, and Hershel is great, my biggest complaint being the inconsistency of the writing behind them week by week.

Can't wait to see how the addition of Michonne, Tyresse, the Gov, and the possible return of Merl affects the group.

I have to say I was shocked recently when I learned that one of the differences between comic and show is that the Dixon brothers (Daryll and Merl) don't appear in the comic. I bet the writing behind them gets a chance to grow their characters in the prison.

And how racist would it be if T-dogg - the one black guy, after getting no lines all season, finally gets some screen time - in the prison season?

He had his hand in every episode up to "Nebraska", even though he was no longer employed by the show. After those episodes, the action picked up dramatically. I think we'll see a bit better continuity in writing and the same second-half pace in Season 3.

Because Kirkman has more than proven in the books that he is a hell of a writer and able to develop characters.

I think that next season will be much better in this department.

This has been eating me up... how the hell do you pronounce this name? Is it Mis-shahn, me-shahn, Me-shown, muh-shahn...?
I see it written often, and never know how to say it.

And OMG I can't put them down either. I'm only on book 47 out of like 95 of them so far. The comics are 10x better than the series has been so far. I don't know why they strayed pretty far from the comics with a few story lines. There are few others that I don't think they could get away with on TV. Either way, next season, if remotely like the comics with Michonne and the Governor, should be one of the best seasons so far.

some really good writing and some bad writing..That being said, I think what is addictive is the storyline. Something about zombie apocalypses with the breakdown in society and how you would survive is very interesting to people.

It's very similar toseasons one and two of Lost IMO.

but it's DVR'd and I fast forward through the soap operaish parts. The acting and writing are both subpar and I'm surprised some of those idiots actually have survived so long. I'm glad Rick no longer wears his uniform but his wife and kid need to go as well. I don't really have a favorite character and they all seem to be one-dimensional and riddled with stereotypes--the South doesn't come off well. The final episode was good--finally some zombies getting killed--although toward the end I was hoping for a zombie to catch up with the blonde and perhaps pull her shirt off and expose her bouncing titties as she ran away. But then I remembered it wasn't an R-rated movie.

I think the webisodes are more interesting than some of the TV episodes.
