OT. A sudden spike in male tourists seen in Ontario Canada.

This doesn't surprise me a lot. Canada's kind of like a bizarro version of the south - you get all of the nice people and dominance in their sport of choice, but the laws on all social issues - prostitution, marriage, drugs, abortion, gambling - would make a typical southern bible thumper have a heart attack.

Prostitution itself is not illegal in Canada, but pimping, operating a brothel and communicating for the purposes of selling sex were considered criminal acts.
I'm a little confused as to how a prostitute would be able to get a customer without pimping, operating a brothel or communicating for the purposes of selling sex. Seems to me the only way would be for the customer to just go up to random women and ask if she'd take $___ for sexuntil onedidn't say no.

But discourages her from finding new clients, because that's the part that would be breaking the law.

It's a poorly thought out idea that was likely written in an attempt to phase out prostitution, then forgotten about.

When I was googling the article it popped up Ontario is legalizing weed. Not sure if it's passed yet or not, but if it legalizes casual use then Amsterdam will not see as many North Americans.
