met a guy who is in the navy the other day that helped on the film. he is in the navy and works at the stennis space center and he said something like 75% of the movie was filmed there. he said that all the people in the movie were all great guys and a lot of the scenes were using live fire. i tried to go see it friday but it was sold out for the two showings that i wanted to see, can't wait to see it though.

I somehow convinced my wife to go see it and she left the movie wanting to put a flag up in our yard. She absolutely loved it. I find it hard how anyone that calls themselves an American can't like this. The fact that real SEALs were used made the movie. This movie would have been awful if professional actors were used.

We both loved it and it is the only movie that I have seen where no one moved or made a sound when the credits started rolling.

I will not watch any war movies that are not about the Korean War or older.

I saw it. The boat ex-fil was awesome. Also cool when they shot some of the scenes like a first person shooter video game. If I wasn't so old and indebted to another career I would have walked out and signed up. Dusty as hell in the theater too at the end. They really need to clean it up in there.

Retired Marine Lt. Col., served two tours in Vietnam. Likes old War movies (one of his favorites is Patton), but will not watch Vietnam movies nor anything with Hanoi Jane in it.

That is a shame. We Were Soldiers (Once and Young) is one of the best war books/movies I have ever read/seen. And I have a bookcase full of WW2 books. Nothing beats the Band of Brothers mini-series though.<div>
</div><div>You ought to drag him to Act of Valor. The storyline is played out and predictable, but there is not an actor in Hollywood that could replicate the actions of these true heroes.</div>

It was Team 22 and Team 20. The Yacht scene was shot in Key West with SBT 20 and the extraction scene was shot in Stennis with SBT 22. The Bandito Brothers have been working on this movie for several years.

We Were Soldiers was the best Vietnam movie ever made. It's just that Dad was there, and the feelings are just too raw....heck, he won't go hunting anymore.

I saw Red Tails (which I thought was hokey but good), and plan to take my son to see Act of Valor soon (Spring Break is next week).</p>
