AI is the buzz word these days and here is an example how it will affect an industry. What’s your thoughts? If already discussed disregard.

It’s crazy to think that we could get “new songs” from famous dead singers very regularly. Just input the right prompts and there’s Prince or Jimmy Hendrix or Elvis singing about something current.

The “There I Ruined It” channel on YouTube has some fun songs. My favorite is probably Conway Twitty singing “In Da Club”:

Reddit has a sub called crappymusic and it's full of AI written songs- lyrics and music.
It's also had some AI performed songs too, but usually they are still people singing.

It's all really formulaic...like Nickelback.
Sad stuff.

(Cue the Deadpool defends Nickelback vid)

Charlie Winfield has had some fun with AI music on his and Bart’s podcast before. I think he did some theme songs, and there was something about vroom maroon that I wish I could remember because it was hysterical.

Who will be the first to hire an AI football coach?

thread hijack:

How much are we using AI to game plan for each opponent? I imagine you could upload every offensive play, including how the defense is set up, and find tendencies for an offense that are very tough for a human to notice. Are coaches or staff members already doing something similar? Do they do this during the game?

Half-time adjustments may become a time to jump on the dang laptop.

Maybe we can put together an AI generated Mississippi State NC football team made for viewing on YT! 👑

Well, there has already been an attempt at hologram versions of dead singers, Ronnie James Dio and TuPac, are two that come to mind. KISS is trying some avatar thing which I believe will have a residency in Vegas in 2027. I could see the day where the two technologies meet and a band or singer from the past comes back on tour with "new" material a la Prince or Michael Jackson.

I miss the good old days when artists would steal, uh I mean sample, other artists music and try to pass it off as their own.

His channel is great.
The only problem with it is you sit down at 9 to watch one and the next thing you know it's midnight. That damn feed on the right!
Got a song worm in my head for Kid Charlemagne several years ago and stumbled across him breaking it down on What Makes This Song Great and it's been "downhill" since.
Most recent was a great Mike Mills interview.

I wonder how often certain aspects of a song has been ‘borrowed’ (intentionally or not) over the modern era of music creation? For a song writer to come up with something unique has to be difficult.
