about friggin time.. worst football announcer ever... baseball he was fine.. football he has sucked for half a centuryAl had a lot of criticism the past months.
At that age he lacked the enthusiasm of an announcer just like a president or actor way past their prime. Time to move on .about friggin time.. worst football announcer ever... baseball he was fine.. football he has sucked for half a century
Best part of that day was the live crank caller called Tom Brokaw and Al Michaels in the air “I see OJ, and he lookin’ scared. And I be scared to, There are cops all up in this- baba booey to y’all”Al’s greatest moment was during the OJ Bronco chase when he called in live on the air

Peter: "Thank you Mister Higgins"
Al: "That was a totally farcical call." He said said something in code.
Peter: "Not the first time or the last time we will have been had."

Lost count of how many times between/among friends we say: "that was a totally farcical call". Many still respond with "That was quite the tensest."That was so awesome. I heard it replayed on Stern, didn't see the report live because I was watching the Knicks finals game vs. Houston on WNBC which they broke into with a split screen of the chase.

I love when he refers to the "code." Those calls were ridiculous. I remember when they would play cuts from Ponce De Le Phone's CD "Telemarketer Terror." He would just mess with telemarketers on the whole thing.Lost count of how many times between/among friends we say: "that was a totally farcical call". One telemarketer melted down with Ponce after he reached the 6th or 7th excuse about why he needed to move a sales appointment, "No, wait, that's not good, I forgot I have to bathe my grandmother that day."The glory days of the Stern show….. in my opinion
