I know it's the east coast, but this is nothing compared to what hits the Gulf of Mexico almos every year...

it gets pretty annoying when the hurricane forecasters almost appear to want destruction to happen just so they can report it.

/sorta like C34 and the basketball team. never thought about that until just now

What does the fact that stronger storms have hit the Gulf have to do with the fact that a big storm is headed to the Northeast right now?

I feel bad for the people. If it does go on up into New York, it could be pretty bad, because I'm not sure they really understand what's coming. Even a Cat 1 or 2 is serious. If a 3 lands up there, it really could be a major disaster.

The Weather Channel's excitement over it does wear me out.

I started watching the weather channel at 230 this morning because I couldn't sleep. Yes I am sick of the coverage now.

giant hurricanes don't hit the gulf "almos every year". do you not remember katrina coverage leading up to landfall? it was pretty non-stop for several days. not to mention, can you remember the last time a hurricane was targeting NYC?

And all of these states will be affected by the hurricane, an event that is very rare for about 1/2 of this population. <div>
<div>This is huge news. A gulf storm of the same magnitude shouldn't get the same coverage. Nonetheless, Katrina coverage was just as constant on TWC.</div> </div>
