I got an Amazon Fire TV recently. Is there any way to make a screensaver that displays time and weather information (maybe even with the day's forecast) and prevents the device from going into sleep mode?

Tried google searching for this but couldn't find a definitive solution. Best I could find in the comments for an app page (Weather4us) and on a blog somewhere is that Roku is capable of this functionality.

Bigboxes?

I will give you my expert technical advice:

Have you tried turning it off, and then back on again? If that doesn't work, go the extreme route and unplug it for a few minutes.
Might try blowing in it next.

You want to push the game down...but like super super slow...when you hear it click into place, STOP...don't bother closing the lid. Should work.

Normally, I think this could be done on any Android device by using a different launcher, but I'm guessing the launcher is 'fixed' on the Fire TV, unless you root it etc.

Sounds like it's possible, though it does require a little bit of tech knowledge to do it.

Basically, since the Fire TV runs Android, it can run pretty much any Android screen saver, it just requires a little work to do it. So find one that does what you're looking for, and then follow the guide in the link above.
