Theo Pinson
I probably would've gotten it sooner but I misunderstood your question until I started seeing some of the answers from others then I remembered Coach K recruiting Pinson until he was notified that he committed some kind of minor violation then he backed off from recruiting Pinson after that.Pinson is correct. You're up, Diehard!
For my bonus section, in hindsight I would have asked you to name all of the Duke's recruits in the last 4 years that have been offered by Roy. The list is rather long and impressive:
Jabari Parker
Matt Jones
Jahlil Okafor
Tyus Jones
Justise Winslow
Brandon Ingram
Chase Jeter
Luke Kennard
Harry Giles
Jayson Tatum
Marques Bolden
Javin DeLaurier
12 Duke guys got offers from UNC; 1 UNC guy got an offer from Duke. Fortunately for Heels fan, Roy is a better evaluator of talent.
You're off on the year by a few years it was his 1911 T206 card but you got the player and the reason, which I can imagine most people wouldn't know that unless they know a lot about collecting Baseball cards. On a sidenote, when I was in my early to mid teens my dad almost had a chance to buy a shoe box full of old Baseball cards and that Honus Wagner card was in that shoe box along with a ton of other valuable cards for players like Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio. I figured it would be one of you OFC guys that would get it correct. You're up Sky.You might be looking for Honus Wagner. His card came from a tobacco can and he was against smoking so he had the company stop making the card and very few of them were made thus making the value so high. I have no idea about the year so I will guess and say 1917. OFC
Nailed by Buckin! But will wait on Sky for "the official verification." (old Barney Fife quote!!)
