I don't game very much, but I bought my kid Red Dead Redemption 2 a few years back for Christmas (2019?), and we played it together back then. I've replayed it twice since then all the way through, and it gets better every time.
If you haven't played it, you have to. It's more of a Great American Novel than a video game, but it's also the best hunting, fishing, robbing, horse-riding, kidnapping, bank-heisting, gang-beating, hero/villain, game out there with a strong moral undertone if you want it. If you don't want that, then you can be the worst person you want to be.
You can also just spend hours in the world without really playing the main game and have a blast.
It's also just incredibly rich with details that you can't possibly notice until you've gone through it at least twice.
Check out the reddit threads about it; but beware spoilers! Mah boi!
ETA- I've tried to play other games since this one, but none of them are nearly as compelling. This is the only game I've played since college and I'd start over again tonight if I had the free time.
