These three former NFL players met while playing football for San Diego State University. Akbar was a linebacker for the Oakland Raiders, and later the San Diego Chargers. Robert also played for the Chargers as a wide receiver, and Ricky spent several seasons with the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.
I think they bill them as being from Bolton because that sounds more "country" and matches up with the story line the show wants to present. The other guy--Jason, I think--is from the area but lives in Pensacola.
I watched it last night and found it somewhat entertaining. I like that it's an actual challenge to complete versus most of the reality shows that have elements that rely on political savvy to form alliances to protect yourself.
