Apple Mini has a new design. Edge to edge screen.
Both iPad Mini and iPad Air now have touch ID in the lock screen button (no longer a button).

Apple Watch Series 7 will have a larger screen without the dimensions increasing much. Updates coming to WatchOS that will address issues with cycling and an overall better interface.
I’m an Apple guy, but that and their ridiculously low storage for iPhones drives me nuts. I get that they’re not the same device, but my similar sized Fitbit versa watch lasts a full week while my daughter’s Apple watch has to be charged every single night
I haven't charged my Garmin Instinct since early August, but it's about time to do so. Mrs Socks begged for an apple watch, I told her about the battery. She kept it for a week and we see it back. She has the Versa 3 now.
A guy told me the Apple watch drains the battery so much because it's constantly sending data back to Cupertino. Same dude wears an Apple watch and thinks Bill Gates wants to chip him with a vaccine... But hey, not all our friends can be geniuses, sometimes you need a fella to help you move something heavy.

I laugh constantly at Apple pushing their sleep features. How the hell are they worth anything if it has to be on the charger. I love the features i use since switching from my Fitbit but the battery laugh is such a crippling "feature"

I was kind of joking that a guy believes they are harvesting all his data, yet still wears the watch. But he ain't getting that microchip injection...
In reality, as an investor I have paid attention to this stuff for a while. Your data that is being harvested, is used to try to sell you ****. Whether it be Google, Facebook, Amazon, or Apple. With the Apple watch, if it is harvested, I would imagine I could use your heart rate and exercise levels to target you with medicine, food, workout equipment, etc. They aren't selling the data mind you, its more of if you put your app on our platform, we get 20-30% or whatever of your revenue. If the app developers sell more, Apple makes more. Fairly simple.
A good example. I never thought I had a need for the All Trails (hiking) paid app. But hiking recently off grid, you can't access the maps. I knew that, but didn't put together that my phone would still track me using satellite GPS on the paid downloading version of All Trails. When I got back to civilization I had All Trails adds targeting me everywhere saying for $20 you can have our paid app, download the trails, and track your progress including elevation using your phones satellite GPS.
So I don't mind it honestly. There is some stuff I don't allow access with, others I do. When I moved out of Texas last year I broke open some old boxes and found all kinds of **** that has more personal information than you can imagine. I had a roster of everyone in my battalion I deployed to Iraq with. Had everyones name, address, date of birth, and social. We all got in our deployment paperwork. I also found an old Mississippi drivers license... We remember what the DL number was back in the day right?
I take the philosophy of they don't want to hurt me. I am the meal ticket for government and big business. I earn money, pay taxes, and buy ****... The first people to get taken out are going to be the resource drainers. That said, don't take pictures of your pee-pee.... Those will end up on the internet more than likely.

Good direction for Apple today, all their mainline products got better. Even though dull is the day now with Apple, nothing innovating until future watches, glasses & cars for them. Which Toyota, as it stands today, is in like to make fyi.
I’m Apple everything except PC. I make sure nothing tracks me except for emergency. I get the best battery life out of the puppies, which includes only using Apple chargers only.
Apple finally making the iPad mini great is huge for me & others. Perfect size to lug around & hold for longer periods of time on the couch or recliner for me. You now, finally finally, get almost a full size regular iPad size screen. Coming in a lighter & less money package that is powerful. Big win with apple trying to get rid of their edge bezels for more screen realestate. They I’ll continue that trend.

Remember gents, the technology is there to make these machines run for days on end. The progress will be gradual or it would hurt profit margins. It is the same reason you don’t see regular gas vehicles that can run 150+ mpg. The technology is there but the big players won’t let it happen without fight$.

I worked at Apple from 2011 to 2017 before I resigned for various reasons I won't go into here. I have been using Mac since 1995 when you installed the OS from a series of plastic disks. I was there when they started harvesting this data and really wondered who they were sharing this with. I guess you could ask the same thing of Twitter, Facebook, and Google.
I wouldn't worry about it. I sure they wouldn't use all this information to possibly monitor and influence people on a large scale or try to do anything nefarious like censor what you can say or read, nor affect or promote certain media outlets information or favor only one political organization while eliminating almost all the information from the opposite political side in national elections. I'm sure they fervently promote all political opinions and journalism and let we the people decide what we think is right and wrong or how we feel about such.
I'm sure they have our best interests at heart and grudgingly shoulder the heavy weight of enforcing the proper morality of our social issues while being a dependable watch dog always supporting personal rights and individuality and opinions.
It's a big job but they selflessly doing it every day.

From what I gather... foreign nations, big tech, conspiracy theorists, terrorists, perverts, and catfish are filling the facebooks and tweeters with their horrible agendas. Not worth it so I can see a picture of my neighbors taking a selfie at the Grand Canyon for their 20th anniversary claiming they love each other more than anything... When in reality he's banging the other neighbor and she is stashing cash in a secret account before hiring a ruthless divorce attorney.

Yeah I'm in the boat close to you but with the quiet old folks and liquor cases just clicking I do not agree with sharing my info and pretending that we don't understand all this Twittersphere while we wait until we are needed to maybe help clean up some of this **** when it all blows up or make everyone a drink.

Just get used to the fact that your personal information has almost certainly already been hacked and your social security number and credit card numbers are out there on the black web. And you are being tracked, mostly for marketing purposes, but increasingly for political purposes. Doesn't matter if you use Apple, Android, Microsoft, or any other platform.
I've noticed they've dropped the "Security" ads they were running.

This is just false. For better or worse (well, for worse), social media is the primary medium of information now for most people. Because of network effects, there are huge barriers to setting up competing mediums. And whenever somebody looks like they are getting some traction, they get bought (e.g., Instagram) or existing players use their market power to shut them down before they get off the ground (e.g., parlor; gab).
Why do you need social media for information? Again, as a productive, informed member of society, I have no need for it. Or am I actually uninformed because I don't get my information from Facebook?
My theory:
Only ignorant people would trust social media for information. Information on social media is created by it's users. Most of these users are the ones that get their information from social media... Seems like a perpetual cycle of ignorance.

Finally, I agree with JoeLee'sSocks. I just do not care about social media anymore. I still have a few accounts but I intentionally stay off of it and definitely keep my opinions to myself. The sheer self-worship of it all keeps me away because I lose faith in humanity. I keep the accounts around because you never know when you might need them.

Other then a Twitter feed documenting credited journalists & networks. Why would anyone take social media for their main news source? It is just dangerous & why Qanon was able to blow up. Many suffered & died from that cult, which turns out, it seems, just to be some half American/Chinese anime loving nerd at the end of it. Youtubers, anon boards, facebook citizens that aren’t doctors or scholars saying crap without sources.
Make no mistake, your buying data gets harvested for advertising. It always has been, even before the internet in other mail me forms etc, surveys. You can go on Google & buy out what you want seen when someone searches(I’m guilty of this btw), & more where that came from. Go to the stores themselves & buy the old school way, decline advances & switch to old technology If you don’t want to be tracked.

It's not about where I or other people need information from. It's about what other people use to get their information. You said they are only censoring you if you let them and that's just false. Censoring is applied to the distributor/conveyor of information or the information itself, not the recipient. Social media quasimonopolies can and do censor information and people/news organizations. They prevented news organizations from disseminating accurate information about Hunter Biden and communications regarding his dad receiving a cut in exchange for Hunter being able to peddle influence, for example. If the news organizations decide to stop using social media as a result, that doesn't mean that facebook, twitter, etc. aren't censuring them. It's just making their censorship that much more effective.
Social media doesn't just distribute information from users. It greatly impacts the circulation of news created by news organizations. Most news organizations are not particularly reliable either, but the censorship doesn't have anything to do with accuracy but rather is applied based on whether the news upsets certain leftist views or negatively impacts the prospects of certain politicians supported by typical leftists.
