Ditto on KitchenAid. Dishwasher had to have control board replaced twice in the first 13 months and rinse aid dispenser twice too. Double Gas Oven had to have the touch pad replaced one month after warranty expired ($600 including labor) as well as all the writing came off the knobs 6 months after purchase. I called and complained and filed complaint with BBB and the HQ called me and fixed the knobs, the touch board, and the 2nd dishwasher control board after the warranty expired. I will be replacing when they break next time. I am done with KitchenAid.

I bought LG fridge and LG washer/dryer on the same day and they have never had a single problem (right at 3 years ago).

Ha, check what it looked like before. The fridge was where the wine fridge and second cabinet area is now. It was terrible. I got those bar lights at Lowe's I think, for like $50 each, pretty cheap considering. Contractor installed them. Before the remodel I always thought granite was expensive, but it was the damn cabinets that were half the total cost. I will say little things like pull out trash cans are much more convenient than I expected.

I'm particularly fond of the bar lights. Install them yourself or did the builder do that/already there when you bought it?

Ha! Yeah the house I rent from my uncle was built in the 70's, so we have some pastel colored bathroom fixtures as well. Like our green bathtub, or yellow sink and toilet in the half bath. I love our house though, cause its in a great neighborhood with enough space to grow our family if we want.

I still have one pink and brown bathroom, and one baby blue one

I don't really care about the pink one, it's the guest, and actually looks ok. The blue one is the master, and should be the next thing done. Those are really the only two updates the house needs. I'll totally redo the master bath and closets, if I'm still here much longer, which I may not be. I am in the process of converting my 3rd bedroom/office into a home theater. As in the projector and screen came in last night (Amazon of course) and I plan on installing it this weekend. I read an article recently that said if you have space in your house that you don't use, you're wasting money. And I realized I never step foot in that room, so why have it? I donated a crappy desk and an old couch and a few other items to charity yesterday, and am going to have a badass home theater, and it really wasn't that expensive. Much cheaper than a huge TV, and my tax deductions will pay for half of it. I can't wait to watch a movie in there this weekend. May start with Wolverine.

I had a whirlpool washer & dryer make it 15 years. Could have stretched a couple more maybe. Replaced them with Whirlpools.

I have kitchenaid in the kitchen and like it. Especially the convection microwave. It actually has a conventional heating element in it for bake/microwaving. Or maybe its just baking - I dunno. I just know I can "bake" or "broil" stuff really fast and have the food come out baked instead of microwaved.

Lg is a piece of **** company. Bought a brand new beautiful French door fridge and the light stayed on, with the door closed. melted the plastic light cover and if we hadn't seen it could have caused a fire.

It had gone out of warranty that month. We were furious.

Porcelain tile I believe

That was put in by the previous owners. And thanks, it's nice to take something you hate, and design something you really like. It went from the worst part of my house to the centerpiece. It's a bigass room though, the previous couple tore the wall down to another room, so that's less than half of it. I have a pool table in the other half.

Correct...

All my Kenmore Elite LARGE appliances were built by Whirlpool... I confirmed that with the serial numbers. Even my washer and dryer. I was told all Kenmore Elite items are built by Whirlpool... Most of the regular Kenmore (not Elite) large appliances are built by Whirlpool, GE, and Electrolux/Fridigaire.

Also, all local repair shops will work on Kenmore. The parts are the same as the manufacturer who built them. Notice next time you are in lowe's or HD... The repair parts will say "Whirlpool/KitchenAid/Kenmore". Or "Fridigaire/Electrolux/Kenmore".

Many of the small Kenmore appliances (coffee pots, irons, vacuums, ect) are built by Panasonic, Sanyo, LG, ect.

is 'on target' and Whirlpool is the largest appliance manufacturer in the world BUT not 'all' Kenmore (Sears & KMart) are made by Whirlpool. You need to look at the model numbers to find out 'who' they are made by.

GE, Panasonic, Sanyo, LG, Bosch, Electrolux, and Mabe Mexico ... all make Kenmore appliances besides Whirlpool.
