I joined a new club this year and haven't seen **** and this afternoon is the first time I have heard more than one shot (it wasn't me)

It's been hot and cold, literally. And this cold front coming through now should get the deer moving better. But for as hot as its been I've seen quite a few deer overall, and most people I know are having at least average or better success.

Stay patient.

Went in Shreveport a few times earlier this week. Didn't see any deer, but I was able to put a dent in the Caddo Parish hog population. Still too hot, IMO

Got a doe last Friday morning on a food plot. 4 came out, 3 left and came out again wondering why she all of a sudden decided to bed down and nap. Im also seeing some fresh scrapes.

Only been able to hunt 4 times this year and have seen 12, missed one Sunday morning went and shot afterwards and somehow my scope was off. This time last year i had 4 in the freezer already but it was cooler and i also bowhunted last year. Anyone else notice we have had several full or nearly full moons this year? I'm hoping this front helps too, went and made some mock scrapes this afternoon.

hunted in scott and jeff davis counties. have seen a handful of deer, mostly in the morning. no bucks but i shot a doe yesterday morning. the acorn crop was huge this year. i'm not hunting any food plots yet as they are staying in the woods tearing up acorns still. i could cut my plots with a bush hog right now.
a little off topic but has anyone gone to the black led craze yet? i have several moultrie m80 infared's and was wondering how good the m80 black led or any black led was for that matter. is it worth spending an extra 50 dollars? i've heard mixed results.

Heck no. Haven't spent all my time on my best spot, but have only seen a few. Similar to last year (not moving early). Got a relative hunting just a few miles down the road that has seen a crapload & already killed a decent buck. This would be Calhoun County, by the way.

Haven't seen much yet. It's been warm and they are very active at night. Should start getting really busy here end of next week with the rut.

I got a doe on the 8th, a buck on the 20th, and my Dad got a doe yesterday evening. All three taken in the pm, my two were right before dark on food plots. All shot with a .444 and fell dead in their tracks.

I think as the temps drop they'll start to move more throughout the day. I didn't hunt this morning but saw deer out and about on the way home.

I have a Primos Blackout. Works great, it makes no glow flash or sound.
Just bought a Moultrie black flash today.

I do no use the IR cameras, as they will spoke deer. The red glow and flash runs them off, especially older bucks..

I have 2 white flash cuddebacks and they work fine. I gave been told the deer think the white flash is lightning. I do have several old bucks on those cameras.

As far as deer, we killed a 270lb 3.5 year old 8 point this morning on my families place on the Big Black.. Only 18.5 inches inside.

i do get pictures of what looks like to be spooked deer on occasions with my ir cameras. i'll probably be going with the m80 black led. love my moultrie cameras. have had really bad luck with cuddebacks. heard great things about the bushnell trail cams though.
