OT: Are there any fans of The Alabama Shakes on here?

I will be the first to admit that I have never been a huge fan of bands with women singers, but damn this women has one of the better voices I have heard in a long time. If you haven't heard of them then I would definitely suggest giving them a try

a co-worker suggested I listen to them a few months ago and I am glad I did. As you said, the lead singer is pretty talented.

saw them in Huntsville end of March. Lead singer hanging out in the street with fans smoking cigarettes and just chatting up. If you can see them live, check them out. Record is good, but her voice live is one heck of a performance! Great job for a band from Athens, Alabama.

Maybe the ugliest band that you've heard of. There are definitely some very ugly and disgusting people out there. Half of which are in bands.

i feel like i'm the only person who is underwhelmed by the alabama shakes. heard the hype back in the fall, checked them out and was underwhelmed, then they opened NYE for the truckers, so i made sure to drag the GF to the show early in time for the opener since they were supposed to be awesome live, but again underwhelmed.
