Heading to Athens for the UGA baseball series (3/14-3/16). I haven't been there this century. Help me out with any must-eat restaurants. <s>Or if there's a good golf place for people who are bad at golf to go play golf and enjoy golf, let me know.
</s>

No golf, just eat.

Probably going to be too cold to enjoy golf. It sure is here, and they should be about the same as we are.

I was there a couple of years ago and it's a really nice place. Don't think you'll have any trouble finding places to eat and drink.

De Palmas for Italian food. Really good restaurant. http://www.depalmasitaliancafe.com/

Try Taqueria Del Sol for lunch one day. The Memphis Taco, Brisket Taco, And Fried Chicken Taco are all excellent. They do a really good fish taco as well. http://www.taqueriadelsol.com/index.html

For golf, I've only played at the Athens Country Club. It's a really nice course. I think you have to have a member bring you on as a guest but I'm not sure. The UGA golf course is supposed to be pretty good as well but I've never played there. It is open to the public, though. http://www.golfcourse.uga.edu/

I was there in May.

I recommend the following:

Butt Hutt for BBQ.
Amici for hot wings
Little Italy for giant pizza pies and PBRs.

Seriously. Last Resort. This is a more fancy option. Trapeze is good and has a splendiferous beer list. Also, everything is awesome.

Cali and Titos if you like South American cuisine: fish tacos, Cuban sandwiches, tostones, empinadas. It's just north of Foley Field.
Pepino's or Little Italy. Also, there are several good restaurants in and around the old Coke bottling plant on the east end of Prince Ave. The Garlic Press and Harry Bisset's are pretty good too.

Definitely do last resort if you've got a few extra bucks to blow. It was over $100/person for us but we enjoyed the wine. A lot.
