Where is the top of this stock market run up? I'm about ready to pull out and wait for the carnage. But I am greedy and don't want to miss any profits. If only I had a time machine.

I feel like we're about to hit a pullback. My portfolio has run up at least 7% in the month of May. I took 1/3 of my portfolio to cash yesterday to lock in some profits. All it will take is one miss on job numbers, etc. and it will tank a good bit, which is what I'm waiting on now that I have cash readily available.

Well, I have a short position on the SPY that is about to get uncomfortable so a

nice pullback would be welcomed for many reasons. Full disclosure I'm long and short,
mostly long.

Nobody knows. Even if we are close to the peak, it doesn't necessarily mean the market will start dropping and go down 30+%. It might only go down 10% and then start going up again. It may stay relatively flat for 2-3 years. And if you do get out, where would you invest? Every asset class is over priced right now..... some more than others. Even though inflation is currently very low, sitting on the sidelines in cash isn't the way to go. If you stay in stocks, at least you'll earn some dividends regardless of the direction of the market. As long as your investment horizon is long (at least 15 years), the stock market is a good place to be.
