Just got into town (Brandon city) visiting family. Looking for a boiled crawfish feast. One with the seasoned sausage as well. I've seen that Pearl has a spot. What say ye?

Mudbugs, Crawdad Hole or Crawfish Hut..

All 3 are good.

The Crawdad Hole has the best spices IMO. I know they use Chinese Red Pepper, that gives it that extra kick..

You like Crawfish Hut? I haven't been in a few years but I never liked that they put seasoning on them after they are finished boiling.

+1 not a fan of dumping the seasoning on after. If you season them right when cooking you don't need to...

That sounds terrible and weird. I can't attest to all 3 but I've been to the Crawdad Hole a few times and it's good. Real fun when you catch some live music being played. And unless it's changed it's byob

Hitting up Crawfish Barn in Pearl for lunch, only place open. Anybody been there? Then later this week or early next will knock out Mudbugs!

They season them when cooking but they put some seasoning on after as well. I just didn't like that.

Heard one has byob

The Hole is BYOB, but they charge you per cooler and no bottles. I never eat them there, get them to go and they are cheaper per pound too.

If I didn't live in Belhaven I would frequent Mudbugs more often..

They are pretty good, and are seasoned when boiling.
I never understood the seasoning afterwards, it's a waste of seasoning if you ask me.
Some dumb-*** LSU fans do that too, but not the real Cajuns I have boiled with before from Lafayette.

So what do guys like him do when it's not in season? Not being from there I don't know if they stay open and offer different things.

He has a full menu now. Burgers, sandwiches, BBQ, etc.

He is going to be open during football season which I will say is an awesome place to watch a game. He has 16 beers on tap, 6 TV's.

What about Turnrow in Gluckstadt, I have hear good things. The place appears to

be in the process of becoming quite the popular resturant/bar/entertainment spot in the LuckyVillage*.

If you are boiling a bunch of batches, it helps you keep it more consistent from batch to batch. You can use fresh water for each batch and simply season them afterwards. Not my favorite way of cooking them but if done right still good. I've definitely had worse that were boiled with the seasoning. You do have to make sure you are using the right seasoning. If you try to do it with the same stuff you'd put in the boil you end up with bland crawfish or with stuff that will set you on fire.
