If you're sick of these threads, just skip it. But I'm wondering if I should have held out for more this morning...

After going straight to the cancellation department, I told them about a deal that Comcast was running and I ended up with:

$30 off/month for a year
Free Sunday Ticket (without Redzone. Would have been $99 if I had included it, and he wouldn't budge)
Free HD DVR upgrade for one receiver
Free premiums for 3 months

They don't have an internet partner in Olive Branch so I couldn't save anything on bundles, but had anyone here done much better than that?

When I called after they got into their pissing match with Viacom I walked away with $10 off a month for a year, showtime for 6 months, and game lounge for one month. However, here is what is getting ready to get them another phone call from me. When I called my bill was due (not late). A couple days after I got that deal I went online to pay my bill and saw they had decreased it about $10 so I figured they started my deduction with my current bill. Then I get my bill for this month and it is $5 more than what I was paying before my credit. From looking at my bill it seems that although they lowered my bill they then added it back on for this month like I short paid them. Incompetent pricks. Unfortunately, I live outside of town and the only cable we have is so pathetic you might as well have rabbit ears. All I can threaten them with is Dish.

HD home media center dvr (whole home dvr with 5 tuners), three new hd receivers (the small ones), moved an hd dvr to another room, NFL Sunday ticket, sports pack free for one month and half price for next three months, $81/year for the choice extra package, removed my uverse boxes (which I mailed back yesterday). Told them I was cancelling and explained what I had with uverse but, of course, didn't tell them that I preferred direct tv's picture and sports programming (it beats uverse) They matched the price and threw in free stuff. Now have ATT landline, Uverse internet (6mbs), and Direct TV all of which costs me about $150/month. Followed Tupelotim's advice for getting deals from Direct TV.

Tried out uverse's three pack for a couple of weeks but kept only internet which works fine and they relocated my wireless to a better place. They were going to knock off 15 bucks for a year and give me a $300 visa card but I stilled ditched their tv and phone. With Direct TV and the opportunity to record 7 shows at once (I'll never do that) now I don't have to worry about my wife clogging up the DVR with all the ******** from the Bravo channel and other idiotic reality shows. Switched back to a landline phone (hurricanes) and got a $50 gift card.
