I grew up on Blue Plate, but I prefer Duke's now.

We are a Blue Plate household.

Duke's isn't anything to be ashamed of; I'll sometimes buy it if it's on sale. Like village dog mentioned, I don't recall Duke's being a thing in South Mississippi in the late nineteen hundreds into the early 2000s - if the Jitney Jungle carried it, we certainly didn't buy it. I'm not being a hater when I say Duke's marketing has really done a fantastic job convincing folks it's the REAL Southern mayo.

Have eaten Blue Plate and Bama my whole life. Dukes became widely known a few years ago so I had to try it. It’s not good.

I completely agree, but boy can you set off a firestorm with some folks saying it.

I don't get too uptight about personal preferences. We're all different. I'm fine with the vast majority of Mayo's. Prefer Hellman's and Blue Plate, and Dukes is one of the few I don't care for. But even it's fine when used in something. Some folks swear by it in their pumenter cheese.

I guarantee you if we did a blind taste test none of you could distinguish any of the mayo listed. It all tastes the same.

I could pick out Dukes. Zero doubt. You're probably right on the rest.

I don't think anybody can blind pick Hellman's over Walmart brand. They probably make it

Duke's can't be beat on steamed broccoli...or any other mayo for that matter

I'm of the opinion that one is not really supposed to taste the mayo on a sandwich, burger, etc. Store brand is often sufficient. It definitely shouldn't over power anything else. That said, I can see where as an ingredient in a recipe, some would be preferable to others. I don't recall the brand, but I know there's one or two that just taste off, like an extra or missing ingredient in the mix.

I had never heard of Dukes until they sponsored that bowl game. After hearing all the hype about I finally bought some a months ago. fairly disappointing. I’ll be back to Blue Plate next time.

I bet you can't say that with Coke and Pepsi. Maybe De. Pepper and Mr. Pibb.
I drink all four of those at times. Pibb and Dr Pepper are very similar. I do think Pibb is just a touch sweeter with less bite than Dr Pepper.

Coke and Pepsi taste nothing alike to me. Cherry Pepsi Zero is one of the best diet drinks out there.

Dublin Dr. Pepper used to be the most delicious Dr. Pepper. They used to use pure Cain sugar where every other Dr. Pepper use corn syrup. Too bad Dr. Pepper Snapple Group sued them for trademark and ended it.

Dukes for everyday; but if you’ve never tried Kewpie mayo, it’s from heaven. Throw a bottle on the next Amazon order

You use mustard for potato salad. Unless you're an old maid or gay. Then you use Hellman's.

Dukes is the go to Mayo for everything else. Except...

A plain tomato sandwich. Then you use Blue Plate ---but only if you have a really tasty right-out-of-your-own-or-someone-you-love's-garden tomato.

If you have a S H I T T Y tomato from Walmart or some other grocer, use Dukes.
