OT: Best Podcast App for Android

I need a new alternative to Google Podcasts. It has too many bugs and is driving me nuts.

What I want:

• No Ads
• Auto download for most recent episodes
• No playback bugs please
• The same podcasts on Apple and Google podcasts

The main thing I miss from my iPhone is the podcast app. It is honestly the best thing Apple has ever developed. I need something similar on android and I don't mind paying for it. Please help.

I've always used Pocket Casts, and it meets all of your criteria. It's a paid app, but it's only $4 or so, I think. It's been a while since I bought it, so I don't really remember what it cost. I have never owned an iPhone, so I have no idea how it compares to the Apple podcast app.

Google Play Music doesn't work for you? I'm not a huge podcast listener, but it seems to work well for me.

I used Google Music a couple of years ago. Getting new episodes was difficult. It also stopped supporting some podcasts I listen to.

I have a droid and I just searched podcast app. Google Play/Music didn't have everything available. I downloaded Podcast App, that's exactly what it's called and have had no issues what so ever. I open it every morning and every evening. It may not do the auto download, but it let's me know if there is a new episode. I don't download any of them. I just listen.

I use Spotify now but before I used Podcast Addict and it worked well

I use Google Podcasts which works fine but for any others that use it, do you notice that it seems to automatically clip out any dead space between words? I mean I'm fine with it as it gets me through the podcast more quickly but it kind of sounds weird.

I checked that out last night and it was apparently awesome until the last big update. Nothing but 1 and 2 star reviews from May to July.
