I've got mine.

Arden Barnett is killing it right now. Jackson is experiencing somewhat of a live music revival.

I remember when Collective Soul walked off stage.

Hootie was one of the more fun acts they ever had, and I do miss the annual Cowboy Mouth appearance.

Yeah. Ed was pretty pissed. I think Better Than Ezra played after them, so that was pretty good. I agree, huge shame that Jubilee Jam couldn't make it. It was a fun event.

I agree. With the right leadership and vision, it could be incredible. It was awesome two+ decades ago. It went away. It came back and was average, then sucked and then went away again. Now would be good timing though. There is a very viable creative class of young folks doin' thangs. I think it could be a success again.

I don't

know why it couldn't ever survive. I mean I'm not to up on the whole concert financing part, but there always seemed to be big crowds, when I went. Even in the later years.

Good crowds every time I went too. But in 2 of the last 3 or 4 years we got ridiculous amounts of rain the whole weekend and those just killed it financially. They did try a very scaled-down version of Jubilee Jam a couple of years later, but it was at a different time of year and the quality of the acts wasn't nearly as good. And that was the end of it. But it was pretty damn good while it lasted.

In response to Rambis and Pat, I am not sure it was a function of the size of the crowd, but the type of people in the crowd. If I were going to be the promoter for the event, I would try to regionalize it instead of localize it. Put another way, try to attract more the hipster type and less rednecks. The riff raff count was elevated the last few years. But I also agree, the weather was unbelievably ****** for a couple of years.

It seems like there would be an opportunity to attract some acts that are in the area for Jazz Fest and the Beale St. Music Fest. And I don't think having a festival while either one of those is going on would hurt the crowd that much. It'd be cool if they went the direction of Jazz Fest and had some awesome food to go with it.

I totally agree. Lot's of amazing restaurants in and around Jackson and local vodka and beer. The timing could not be better.

I'd also focus on the indie folk/alt country/bluegrass genre with some blues artists and maybe a gospel act or two...
