are performing at the Meridian Naval Air Station the weekend of March 28th and 29th. The Golden Knights parachute team is also performing. Free show.

Side note, if you haven't watched the Blue Angels documentary on Prime, I would highly recommend it.
I saw them in Meridian as a kid when they were flying the F-4 Phantom. Fantastic show.

Also on Disney is the Top Guns series. That was filmed at NAS Meridian also. It’s a tad overly dramatized but well worth the watch.

I work at NAS Meridian and ensuring the T45 flys safely is what I (and T45fixer) do for a living.

Sounds like you and I work for the same contractor. I’m at the office in Madison. Been with the company since 2011.

They’re fairly decent even if they are Navy pilots. 😉
Ironically, even though I have ~1700 hours in the front seat of Phantoms, I never got to see them or the Thunderbirds when they were flying F-4s.
I've seen the Thunderbirds fly everything since and including the F-105. The most impressive shows overall by a little bit, have been with the F-16s. That being said the F-4s were awesome .. what they lacked in maneuverability they made up for with sheer NOISE. You FELT an F-4 show in your gut. The F-16s have a bit of that. I honestly liked those LOUD F-4 shows better. The T-38s were the worst, not as agile as the F-16s.....and as jets go, quiet. I spoke about seeing a F-105 show, and I did, I can remember it, but we were watching off base and I was quite young. I remember them being pretty loud, and flying pretty straight, at least from at least a mile off the flight line off base. This brings back good memories from a LONG time of go for me, and some more recent ones.

As for the Blues, I've seen them once in an official show. They were flying the original F-18s at the time. They were impressive! I've seen them a few times off Gulf Shores too. Cool stuff!

Where I golf is adjacent to NAS Pensacola and right smack in the middle of the Blue’s training area. Get a few shows a week when they’re in season and after ten years it’s still just as exciting every time. Can’t not look up.
Sounds like we live pretty near one another on the Emerald Coast. We go see them from the water every year when they do the show over the beach.

For any aviation enthusiasts, if you’ve never been to Osh Kosh Wisconsin for that big air show, put it on your bucket list. The year I went both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds flew but honestly the civilian aerobatic teams were probably better. The F22 demonstration was mind boggling, woman pilot did things that aren’t aerodynamically possible, or so I thought. The fireworks shows on Wednesday and Saturday nights put Disney fireworks to shame, they’re worth the price of admission by themselves.

There’s a guy I play golf with in Meridian that goes to Pensacola every time they have a show there. I’ve never seen such a die hard Blue Angle fan. I see them buzz the beach in OB(part time resident)when I’m there which is usually enough for me. But may have to take in the Meridian air show as I live just a few miles from the base. They really are something.

Here is the link for the event. I've never watched an air show there so I'm not sure I would be much help.

In fairness, they only happen here once every 10-12 years or so. With that being said, logistics change a little each time. Their website is really being updated on the fly, it seems, weekly. They've added a a lot more details recently

I went to the show the Blue Angels did there probably 15 or so years ago. It was great. I plan on going to this one. Last time, I seem to remember that it was free and we just took camping chairs and sat either in the grass or on a runway or something.

I was a fireman at NASMER for 30 years and was involved with several airshows. Every time I was there they had the crowds parking on the South Runway and would have shuttle buses to ride from parking to the tarmac area. I feel sure they'll have something similar set up this year.

Back when I was younger and my dad who was a WWII navy pilot would fish the Chandeleur islands every once in an awhile we would be treated to an air show by whom we never knew. But it was military fighter jets. The flight deck was pretty low. There would be three jets. Two jets doing dog fights and third jet would stay high altitude. My dad explained to me that the two jets doing dog fights were training and third jet was instructor that was grading the trainees. Some awesome airobotics.

Pensacola Country Club or the base golf course?

I live on Navy Point and just a few houses away is a waypoint for the Blues since they were flying prop planes. I love living here and having them buzz my house every week in season.

He might as well just move here. They fly over NAS Pensacola almost every Tuesday and most wendsdays in season. Plus the beach show and homecoming.

We used to live on Brown Rd. I loved the flyovers, our dog did not.
