Not a crewed launch. Had been awarded a contract recently for moon base supply missions. Will probably take a year to rebuild the infrastructure that was just destroyed.

I’m really concerned we’re going to kill another crew of astronauts with what NASA is planning the next decade or so.
It is coming, it is the risk we take. It blows my mind we have never lost anyone in space. Of the 19 to die all happen during launch or re-entry.

Two chemical plant incidents on the West coast today, a gas explosion at a Dallas apartment, and the Blue Origin explosion. All in one day.

Chemistry seems to have declared war on us.

I can hear Blue Origin testing engines on Redstone many nights. So far, they've not had an explosion on the test stand, so the issue must have been somewhere other than the engine itself. Maybe a LOX or methane connection came loose, or something of the sort.

The company I work for is close to Blue Origin in HSV and when I drove by this morning it looked like a kicked hornet's nest. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that facility today.

Yes, it's probably chaotic there today. Hope they make it through this.

Apparently they just destroyed their only launch pad at the Cape. They may be out of action for a long time.

It's certainly not going to enhance their competition with SpaceX. Rebuild can be done fairly quickly though - pretty sure the pad that SpaceX used last week for the Starship launch in Texas was built from the ground up in less than a year.
