I feel like I've said, "**** just got real..." a little too much in regards to this series. I just wish that they went ahead and finished this whole season instead of breaking it up in half... Waiting a whole year to see what happens next is going to be murder.

Yeah, I love the show. But damn, just to long between seasons. I feel the story has been stretch a little long. Add one more episode on season 4 and air 508. Then we could have seen the last 8 episodes this summer.

The writers have done a masterful job turning Walt from a sympathetic character to a cold calculating one all while keeping a degree of likability with him so you have to cheer for the guy. He is the ultimate bad protagonist.

I don't think you could've gone from season 4 finale -> 508

Yeah, I love the show. But damn, just to long between seasons. I feel the story has been stretch a little long. Add one more episode on season 4 and air 508. Then we could have seen the last 8 episodes this summer.
There were a couple of important things that happened in this season:
1) We saw Walt as a ruthless 17er time after time
2) We finally saw Walt's dream of, and struggle to become, THE boss of his drug ring with no one to answer to.
3) We saw his internal journey complete, for whatever reason, to the point where he was finally ready to let go of it all and return to be a family man.

I suspect we will see some reasons for #3 in Season 5 pt. II.

Obviously this simplified what we saw in Season 5 pt. I, but I think this season was great and pivotal to the Walter White story.

Agree.

#3 might have had something to do with the scene where his is scanned for cancer again. I think he is also greatly disturbed that he had to have so many people killed...or maybe he was just rethinking things after that cancer checkup.
