Get your *** up and leave early*. Or use the bypass to go around the tunnel.

Sometimes I'll hit 65 North off of 98, merge onto 165 south, take exit 2 onto New Bay Bridge Rd which is Hwy 16/90, cruise on past the battleship, under the I-10 bridge, then hop back on the interstate after I've gone across the bay.

Yes, I have a big one...

Not sure where you are coming from but if you end up on I-65 coming into Mobile (from 45 say) then get off on 165 then look for bay bridge road. That will take you over the bridge instead of the tunnel but still get you onto I-10. That saves me probably 30 minutes everytime I do it, especially on a summer Saturday when everybody and their mother is headed to the beach somewhere.

I always take Gov't street(HWY 90) and go through the Bankhead Tunnel and on the road below the bridge and get back on 10 at Spanish Fort.

Like Delmar said if you are not going through at 5:00 just take the Wallace.

Instead of going south on I 65 to I 10, go north and take I 165 south toward downtown. Get off on Hwy 90 and cross the bay bridge. Stay on 90 until you go past the Battleship then get on I 10. The best time saver is to avoid Hwy 59.. I take Hwy 181 south to hwy 98 then go east on 98 until i get to 59 at Foley. you can also bypass Foley if you like and go all the way to Bon Secour then east to 59. all of this assumes you are going to Gulf Shores and not Destin.

This is the best way to go.

I know one thing....I wish with all my heart that the State of Alabama would four lane Highway 45 in between Greene County, MS and Mobile. The cops are horrible on that one hour stretch, and it never fails that I will get behind some pulpwood truck at Citronelle and have to ride behind it going 35 mph all the way to Prichard. One thing Mississippi can clearly boast over Alabama is better highways and county roads.

i have a daughter in fairhope....learned from her....come in on 98 and instead of getting onto I65 south to 10 stay on gov't (?) st...which ever 98 turns into...go into town and either loop up to the "new' tunnel or better yet just go thru the old tunnel across the causeway. we did that last time and had nada traffic problems. prob saved 15-20 mins.

If you're headed more down toward Perdido, you can also take I-10 into Florida, take exit 7 onto Pine Forest Rd., hang a right on Blue Angel Pkwy and stay on it for a while, right at the Walmart onto Sorrento Rd., and it will take you over Lost Key and spit you out on the gulf hwy.

The best way to go is through St Louis and head northwest. When you see a sign that says Omaha you're there!

Yeah, 98,45, and 82 all do that, as soon as you get to Mississippi, boom, 4 lane. The other thing about Citronelle, what in the hell do they have in that town that makes my radar detector go nuts?

Get in the right lane and drive like you are going to take the last exit, then merge into tunnel traffic...

Probably cops sitting in the parking lots somewhere through there. I see them pulling into that grocery store all the time to probably blend in with the other cars in the parking lot. Seriously, I hate having to drive through Citronelle and Prichard to get to Mobile from Waynesboro. The houses and businesses in Citronelle and Prichard all look like the they are about to fall in, and the rednecks give me a bad look with their wandering eye.

No it goes Laser crazy everytime I drive passed that elementary school. The gas station by the light going up the hill has great chicken strips though.

Dude, you're from Waynesboro and you are calling other people rednecks? We've gone over this before
