From northern Ocean County to either Newark or Philadelphia Airports.

Any recommendations?

Never used either.

I can look into it
Found Dependable Car Service to be comparable, maybe a little less expensive. I went based on their reviews. I was happy with the service. Their cars are not top of the line, but more than adequate. I think they were the Lincoln station wagon type vehicles. Driver was professional and courteous. Quote included the tip. I would use again.

You just have set it up through the app.
It’s pretty easy to use if you can do that. But not everyone wants to that.
Car service might be an easier option . But Uber/lyft is probably the most economical.

Never considered Uber/Lyft pre-scheduled for leaving the airport. But NEVER try to schedule while landing or deplaning. We got absolutely clobbered on surge pricing on this twice. One time, the first driver canceled on us, and we had a second driver, but the rate was unbelievable. When we canceled, we got hit $15-20 for canceling. We took the Air Train back to Metropark where we were parked.

I used car services for decades when going to Newark airport, and tried Uber the most recent trip
Worked out well, and was less expensive

I’ve had very good success pre-scheduling Ubers for trips to Newark.
Really? From West Amwell? For me, it’s been hit or miss pre-scheduling. Sometimes it’s gone 100% smoothly, other times I’ve had the driver cancel on me 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time (which is really stressful if you’re trying to make a flight).

Yessir. No issues over maybe 5-7 trips

Yes . It matters where you are . OP stated northern ocean county .
I think in this case the car service is probably better option especially if traveling at off peak hours. Lack of drivers

I think what Plum Street says makes sense. My problem with Uber/Lyft is reliability and not knowing who/what you are going to get for a driver/car. While it may be a bit cheaper than a car service, at least with a car service that is in business for years, you know who/what is coming to pick you up.

Clayton Livery out of Spring Lake.

Wally’s out of Manasquan.

Depending where you are in Ocean County, worth a call.

Yeah why not Uber or Lyft ?
Is Uber the cheapest option now? I know in the past, everyone was praising Uber and the cost ( a thread on this board) but I hear the cost has been going up a lot. I was go8ng to use it for a local round trip but was not cheap and never used it. I called a relative to pick me up.

We use uber a lot but they are getting so damn shady. Have cars coming at X price- pickup in 5 minutes and all of a sudden they cancel and the next car is up $5-20 and pickup in 20. Or, as someone else said- you get hit with a cancellation fee.

Back in the day- I had a great car service out of Wayne NJ- I used to use them for everything- even a few times for dates where I would pick the date here in NJ- meet me in the city and keep the car and driver for the night. Those dates usually ended well. lol
