Anyone have a suggestion on which rafting company to use on the Ocoee? Also, what else should I do around Chatanooga? Any good mountain biking?

Prentice Cooper and Suck Creek have trails for biking. For family you can't go wrong with the Aquarium and the river front are nice, Coolidge park and Walking street bridge, Rock City, Incline Railway, Lookout Mountain that's all within 5-10 minutes downtown of each other. Champy's for good chicken (My cousin from Indianola owns it) Terminal Brewhouse great food, atmosphere and beer also have Big River Grille. Bluewater for seafood, Back Inn Cafe or St. Johns for fine dining.

But I don't think you can go wrong with most of the river companies. Recommend if you can swing it is to do the Ocoee on a Thursday or Monday. The river gets really crowded Fri-Sun.

Haven't done any mtbiking up there, but those that have really liked it. Most of the river companies offer mtbiking options.

cannot recommend these guys any higher. We have used several rafting companies, but Dusty and Brent are heads above the rest.

They are brothers from Mississippi and MSU graduates. We have never had anyone go out of their way to make a difference like they have. Brand new outfitters building this spring, zip lines through the treetops, great rafting and outstanding mountain biking experiences. Need something else? Just ask.

Call them and tell them you are coming from Mississippi and they will take care of you.

Full day on the Ocoee (upper and middle) with lunch is all you want. Trust me.

If you have the daylight after the river trip there are great trails right at the Ocoee Whitewater center. You can get free maps at the center, parking is about $2
and a variety of trail difficulty. Most start with a fairly strenuous climb up an old logging road but when you get to the top the trails are in the moderate category.
Whitewater and cylcing, the ultimate 2 sport day.
