Just read about this guy on Wikipedia. How can a dr that seriously injured or killed 33/37 patients, most of which during what were supposed to be simple surgeries get to keep practicing that long. You’d think after the first 5, someone would’ve stopped it. I guess that’s what the series is about.

The podcast goes into detail about it. It’s a good listen about a horrible son of a *****. But the piece of garbage in Dr, Death 2 is even worse.

It’s pretty incredible that he got to patient 38. In one of his surgeries, the other doctor working with him had to physical restrain him from 17ing more **** up. It changed my view on doctors permanently.

I was going to listen to season 2 but Wondery pissed me off by making listeners pay to get everything beyond the first episode of season 2. Oh well. I don’t want a subscription.

Season one of the podcast and the Peacock series were both riveting.

For those of you not familiar with the Dr. Death case, there’s a new podcast called “Killer Psyche” that does a single episode covering the Dr. Death case. Obviously they just hit the high points, and doesn’t go into the same detail as the Dr. Death series. But it’s enough to help you understand how big a piece of **** this dude was/is.

It will also terrify you that a surgeon has that much power and control over a hospital. I get it’s a supply and demand situation, but this dude was literally just destroying peoples lives, surgery after surgery and hospitals kept hiring him.

Yes, I tried to listen to season 2 last week. They give you the first episode for free and then tell you everything else has been moved to Amazon Music or Wondery+ with subscription.

Sounds like you got to listen before they tried to monetize it.

I actually have met Dr. Henderson several times at spine meeting held in Park City every year. Nice guy.

Semmes Murphy is a very well thought of group and puts out many good neurosurgeons. It’s bizarre how he got through that program doing such a light surgery load. But…that was only part of the issue. Duntsch is a complete maniac. What he did was truly unfathomable and I’ve seen some horrible surgeons operate.
