Thanks to all of you for your kind words of support, as we look to recover from the devastation of today's quake!

A friend in Richmond called and said that they evacuated her office building. She didn't see any damage but cell service is out and she can't get in touch with her kids. Said it was scary as hell.

Shep just said we had an earthquake, buildings shook, only report of damage is a couple of ceiling tiles falling, no injuries. The earth shook and it's over. I'm gonna talk about history being made in Lybia. If you want more on the earthquake I suggest you change the channel.

It was one of the cooler things I have felt. We were shaking outside of Philadelphia for a good 5-10 secs

And buidling shook pretty hard. Actually pretty cool to go through since all seems to be ok except for some fairly minor damage.

Williamsburg, there was no damage. Epicenter was west of Richmond ... out in the middle of nowhere. Great place to have an earthquake. We now need tee shirts ... "I survived the great Virginia Earthquake of 2011" Actually, the 5.8 or 5.9 makes it the biggest, baddest earthquake in Virginia history.

Yorktown got a pretty good shaking. Knocked pictures off the walls of my house and set off the car alarm, but that was about it. Pretty cool though since I have never felt an earthquake before.

Wow - I just missed it. Left Norfolk at 6:50 a.m. this morning on a plane after being in the area for 2 weeks.
